McPherson will get his due in time, he’s an excellent young kicker, but Reichard is on the cusp of becoming the all-time points leader in the NCAA. As much as we like the home team here, a freshman isn’t going to get consideration over an upperclassman who kicks for a team who gives him the opportunities he gets with the Bama offense. McPherson isn’t taking this personally and neither should any of us. After years of horrible Bama kickers they were due. He is not the best kicker in the league for sure. Depending on whatever metric you (attempts, makes, length) he does not lead in any category.
