auburn connections

Just thought it would be fun to see how many of us regulars attended auburn, or have children that attend(ed) auburn, or are just a big fan.

I'll start, although I didn't attend Auburn, i've been a fan ever since i was old enough to know my DAD graduated from there in 1952.

I didn't graduate from Auburn. My dad did in the 60's. Grew up going to games and believing "Roll Tide" was a dirty word. I got accepted to AU out of HS. I wound up going to AUM and graduating from UAB due to employment opportunities.

I still believe that "Roll Tide" is a dirty word! :big:

I attended but did not finish there and have a daughter who is a Junior at AU now. My older brother graduated with a EE in the 60's from AU and he introduced me to Auburn. I am forever grateful.

I am currently a Junior at AU. My dad attended Auburn and graduated. I actually never planned on going to AU. I wanted to go to Ga. Tech instead, and University of Texas as a second choice. However, when I went to Atlanta, I decided to tour Auburn, and once I did. I wanted only to go to Auburn. I will never regret the choice I made. War Eagle now and forever!!!

I did grow up an Auburn fan though.

I grew up a UGA Bulldog until my first trip to Auburn in 1970. Cleve Wester of Albany, Georgia, a member of the 1957 Championship Team, took me to an Auburn/UGA game. I came home with a new vision and a new team to pull for. I attended Auburn in 1975 and 1976. Played football for Shug and Barfield. Enjoyed my time at Auburn. Been coming back for games ever since. I have NEVER regreted "making the change!"

My late Dad was not real happy, as he was a UGA graduate. He was on the South Georgia College, Douglas, Georgia, JUCO National Championship Football Team in the 40's before tranferring to UGA. He enjoyed my ball playing at AU though. He went to all of the ballgames. He pulled for us as long as UGA was not participating.

My cousin was an Auburn cheerleader in 1974-75. She was from Atlanta.

Several of my friends from my hometown of Albany, Georgia and other towns have children currently attending. I try to take as many kids as possible to ballgames and other events. Introducing them to Auburn every chance I get. I want as many people as possible to have an Auburn experience. I recently took a 13 year-old kid to his "first ever" college game - AU vs ua. He wants season tickets now.

War Eagle !!!

Auburn grad, class of '72. Never considered going anywhere else, much to the chagrin of my dad who was a fan of Bama and worshiper of Th' Bahr. Was the only one in my HS class to admit to being an Auburn fan in '66 and '67.

I am in my fourth year at Auburn. I didn't have any connections to Auburn at all - just showed up from NY. I will be a senior in a month. Co-oping has kept me a semester behind. I am the first to attend Auburn in my family, being the youngest of 4 brothers. But my parents are huge Auburn fans now.

Graduated 1985. My brother graduated 2 years later.

Our parents raised us as Gator fans in Montgomery in the 1970's, and it was during that time as so-called 'neutrals' that we learned to hate 'Bama and their incredibly arrogant fans; long, long before we even knew we were going to Auburn...

...I graduated EE in 91. I'm the only one in my immediate family, but my extended family numbers in the thousands and grows every year. War damn eagle to all my auburn brothers and sisters. As stated by others many times, Auburn to me is not football, but a way of life that is part of my existance. The CREED sums up my approach to life.

My mom wanted to go there undergrad, but my grandpa (tahd fan) wouldn't let her and sent her to an all girls school! She still thinks there wouldn't have been a problem if she had wanted to go to the other school. However, about 10 yrs later, my aunt ended up getting her masters in speech pathology from AU.

I attended for a year and a half but I'm now at UT-Austin finishing up and hoping I'll be able to get a job somewhere close to AU after I graduate. I miss Auburn dearly. War Eagle!

Never attended :au: , grew up in Birmingham, all of my family were :ua: fanatics. I always felt a connection to AU though. I loved their colors and felt that there was more tradition and class with AU fans.

My husband came to Auburn in 1981 in the horticulture program and that is when everything changed. The Auburn family atmosphere hit me hard and I have never looked back. (It didn't hurt that Bo was playing then! :D ) Hubby stayed for three years and then left for five years. We returned in 1990 and he finished his BS degree in 1992.
