MILWAUKEE (AP) — Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign released a 13-page blueprint for fixing the economy Monday, detailing the former first lady's plans to achieve universal health care, address the home foreclosure crisis and develop jobs for the middle class.

The pamphlet, which will be distributed to voters at campaign events and posted online, outlines many of the ideas she talks about on the campaign trail each day. But by pulling them together, the document resembles a populist manifesto — with Clinton championing the needs of working-class voters over corporate and business interests.

"Over the past seven years, big corporations and special interests have been given a free pass to profit, often at the expense of the American worker. As President, Hillary will make it a priority to scale back special benefits and subsidies to these corporations and put those resources to work for our economy again," the pamphlet declares.

Among other things, the document stresses Clinton's plan to freeze home foreclosures and subprime adjustable rate mortgages — a plan some economists believe would raise interest rates on other consumers.

It also describes Clinton's plan for creating new jobs through investments in infrastructure projects like roads, bridges and levees and "green-collar" jobs that would help reduce dependence on foreign oil.

The New York senator also details her ideas for improving trade agreements, making college more affordable and expanding family and medical leave programs.

"Hillary's plan to rein in the special interests will take back at least $55 billion per year from drug companies, oil companies and firms that ship jobs overseas and invest those resources to improve the lives of working families," the pamphlet said.

a free pass to profit? and God bless this country for allowing businesses to do just that cause what is the main reason people start a business?

Considering what the dow has been doing since about 03 until this past December, it looks like your everyday citizen has been given a free pass to profit too.

And considering more people have jobs now than did during the Clinton administration...it seems like those greedy corporations have been doing a good job passing their profits on to job growth and economic expansion.

I wish there was a way to punish candidates who run on rhetoric alone.

Profits are evil, the big corporations should be taxed 100% so then the American worker can get all of that money and we will all live in luxury...

There is.....vote against them. Unfortunately, the average American voter is too dumb to do this. If people voted sensibly, 90% of these jackasses would be unemployed.

This is some of the dumbest s*** I have ever read. Check you county tax records and see who pays the most taxes. It sure as hell isn't any damn democrat. It's the big businesses. I think you may be surprised at how much they do pay.

I my county we have several Wal-mart stores. Only two made the top 25. There were so many other companies ahead of them and they paid about 190,000 each. If we did not have these big ole bad businesses paying the taxes they do, we would not have our local governments stay afloat.

Just check and see. If you overtax, THEY WILL LEAVE. Then the jobs go with them and unemployment rises. Since the dims figure on a socialist society, I guess this doesn't bother them. The rest of us will just transfer some of our wealth to those left out in the cold by the big bad businesses. Sad indeed.
