RunInRed 16,438
Lucas Hargrove helps Auburn pull away from Charleston Southern in second halfBy The Associated Press AUBURN -- Lucas Hargrove had 20 points and 13 rebounds as Auburn overcame a sluggish start to beat Charleston Southern 77-62 on Tuesday night. The Tigers (7-6) fell behind 22-15, but turned up the pressure and forced 22 turnovers. "We got some steals there on some of our presses," said Auburn coach Jeff Lebo. "We got some deflections and got some easy ones. I thought we mixed how we pressed a little bit, and our quickness gave them some problems. "We forced them into 22 turnovers in the game. I thought we did a good job against their backcourt where we thought their strength was with Jeremy Sexton and Jamarco Warren. They each had seven turnovers." Frankie Sullivan added 10 points and six steals for Auburn. Sullivan, who is shooting 91.7 from the free throw line this season, was 6-for-6 on foul shots. Jamarco Warren, Charleston Southern's leading scorer, had 18 points but had seven turnovers. The Buccaneers (5-7) dropped to 0-23 against opponents from the Southeastern Conference, including 0-3 against Auburn.
