He is supposed to have surgery this summer and will not be available this year. I may be wrong but I heard it from a pretty reliable source. We had two recruits that we really wanted, Darby and Moore, that openly said they wanted to run track as well as play football. Both guys said track mattered in their decision making process. I don't pretend to know a lot about track, but I do know this isn't UAT circa 1975. It's not the track teams job to look out for the football team. Chizik can't use them to stash football players or dictate who they should be interested in. They have to take care of themselves. The FB coaches couldn't get the guys to commit. Which would have helped us pull in some recruits as well. In this instance, the track and football programs could have helped each other out by using both programs as leverage. Petrino has peaked as a head coach there, IMO and managed a 2nd place finish in the West in 2010. That's as high as they will finish in the West in the foreseeable future, IMO.
