I know there are a million other variables (especially the fact that NSD is a very long time from now), but it seems Pelton isn't hurting the recruiting effort. My family loves it. Last time I visited Auburn, I named them as my leader. This time, I committed.”... “I’m probably going to still visit a lot of schools,” Lawson said. “Next week, I’m going to Tennessee. And then I’m going to Clemson with [my former high school teammate] Ryan Jenkins. I’m hoping to go to Ole Miss, and I’m definitely going to California in the summer to check out the schools out there, including USC and UCLA. “I’m 100 percent with Auburn. It would have to be something dramatic for me to change my mind. That's the percentage of early commits that end up signing with their original school. I've heard it said before, but I'm curious about that stat. I know that 90% of the 'overall' signees honor their original commitment, but I wonder if the number is lower (or higher) for the 4 and 5 star kids who are subjected to more pressure to 'flip' to other schools? If anyone has any info on the past 10-20 years (when recruiting became a major business with the addition of dedicated websites, 24/7 media coverage, and so-called 'rock-star' coaches), I would be interested in hearing what story those numbers told.
