Player Notes (School Records, Career Highs, Season Highs, etc.):

Korvotney Barber is the only player in the SEC averaging a

double-double in league play (12.8 pts, 11.3 reb) and one of only 10 in

the country in the BCS conferences. He averaged 14.5 points and 17.0

rebounds in Auburn*s two wins vs. SEC Champion and #11 LSU and at

Alabama while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Vot recorded two

straight double-doubles to help Auburn to its eight SEC win in nine

games.

Barber scored the game-winner at Alabama, winners of four of its last

five, in Tuscaloosa on what else, an offensive rebound putback. He

totaled 13 points and 16 rebounds against the Crimson Tide.

He had 10 offensive rebounds in the game.

In the win vs. SEC Champion and No. 11 LSU, Barber totaled 16 points

and 17 rebounds in only 28 minutes. Barber held 6-foot-7 LSU forward

Tasmin Mitchell to a season *low five points on 1-of-10 shooting from

the field. Mitchell was averaging 16.8 points to rank eighth in the SEC

entering the game. Barber was a huge part of the Auburn defense that

held LSU to a season-low 53 points.

Barber has notched 11 double-doubles on the season and has had a

career-high 18 rebounds in three different games this year vs. SEC

Eastern Division co-Champion South Carolina, at Arkansas and at Georgia.

He has had 17 rebounds in a game twice in back-to-back games this week

at Alabama (10 offensive) and vs. SEC Champion LSU.

I remember when Vot decided to sign with the Tigers and how huge it was for us because he was a highly sought after player and our program at the time was verrrry down. Just another reason to say thanks to Vot and the rest of these seniors for helping make AU basket ball relevent again. Sure is nice to have something to feel proud of about AU BB in March again! :bow::thumbsup:

whats ridiculous is he was named SECOND TEAM SEC instead of First Team.  How do you average a double double and obviously be such an important part of a team as a senior and not make first team?  Just another slight our guys can expect playing for Auburn at this point.  On another note, I had a dream 2 nights ago that Auburn beat Uconn on a last second shot in the tourney. Now I am just waiting to see whether Auburn makes the tourney and if they do, whether they are put in same region as UConn.  hmmmmmm I see a wager in my future if by some miracle Auburn plays UConn in the NCAA tourney. LOL
