Bryce Lane Signs NLI To Join Baseball Team

Recommended Posts

Bryce Lane has signed a National Letter of Intent to

join the Auburn baseball team in the fall, head coach John Pawlowski

announced on Tuesday. Lane is a 6-0, 180 lbs. sophomore outfielder at

Gulf Coast Community College after playing at Russell County High School

in Phenix City.

“We are excited about the addition of Bryce Lane to our 2010 class.

He had a tremendous high school career at nearby Russell County High

School for coach Tony Rasmus and he has followed that up with a special

career at Gulf Coast Community College while playing for coach Mike

Kandler. He is a gifted hitter and a versatile defender and will bring a

wealth of experience with him to Auburn next year,” Pawlowski said.

A First Team All-Conference selection as a freshman, Lane hit .352 with

seven home runs and 47 RBI at the plate while going 5-2 on the mound.

This season he is hitting .444 with 71 hits, 14 doubles, 21 home runs

and 76 RBI, scoring 71 runs. He has also made five appearances on the

mound, going 2-1 with a save and a 1.10 ERA in 16 1/3 innings.

Lane was an All-State selection at Russell Country, hitting .421 and

leading the state with 78 hits during his senior season.

Lane and fellow Auburn signee Andrew Morris have led Gulf Coast CC to

the 2010 Panhandle Conference championship, which is one of the most

prestigious junior college leagues in the country.
