Auburn DB is clue on Jeopardy

Auburn is one of the most recognizable brands in all of college football. That gets the program plenty of national recognition, even in some odd places. On Tuesday, one of Auburn's more unusual names was an answer on a famous game show.

Being an answer on Jeopardy is a pretty high honor. If you're mentioned on Jeopardy, you know you've really made it. Such was the case with the Auburn Tigers and one of their defensive backs on Tuesday evening. Auburn got some shine when host Alex Trebek uttered the clue, "On Saturdays Smoke Monday is a defensive back for this in-state rival of Alabama." Of course, the answer was Auburn University. However, the contestant's answer will make some Auburn fans cringe. "What is the University of Auburn?" the contestant replied. He still got credit for getting the answer right.

Monday was a four-star recruit and the No. 6 athlete in the 2018 signing class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. Monday has come in and had an immediate impact as a true freshman. In seven appearances this season, Monday has 12 total sacks and 2.0 sacks. The young safety has already made a name for himself by appearing as a clue on Jeopardy. That's not a bad start to a collegiate career.

Contestant: “What is the University of Auburn.”

Alec: ”I’m sorry, but our judges say we cannot accept that answer.”

“University of Auburn” as your answer when you’re not a recruit that’s committing?
