When they said he’s already been out hooking in Auburn I didn’t know they were talking about fishing! That sheds a whole different light on the situation! I thought they were talking about something else! My bad coach! Carry on!

Tank, you are the one who deserves the thanks! You could have gone somewhere else but you chose Auburn. You could have left last year for greener pastures but again you chose to stay with your team. You could have packed it in when things went south this year but you turned it up a notch. You will be a better man in the long run for the way you handled yourself. War Eagle young man! Go chase your dream!

How about Coach…..?

Gave him a chance to talk up early playing time, NIL, great support and the new facility. Couldn’t have gone much better from a recruiting standpoint.

I really thought he would keep Ike but it’s his party.

Y’all do know he’s likely not hiring any of the ones we want don’t you?

I wouldn’t mind Steele coming back especially if he could bring Rodney Garner back with him too. No brainer that Zac needs to stay.

I was pulling for him to be HC but it may be best for him to have some additional time to learn before he moves up. I hope Auburn will make him HC In Waiting like Texas did for Muschamp under Mack Brown (before he bailed on them, went to Florida and got run off). I hope Freeze will find a role for Ike Hilliard, Zac Etheridge, Kendall Simmons and Trovon Reed too. They are the type of guys we need on our side.

Cadillac

I’ve been dead set against it because I believe we need an experienced coach to lead the program. But I have come to believe over the past few weeks we need someone to unite the Auburn family not tear it apart and that coach is Cadillac. There are too many opposed to Freeze because of his lack of character and I can see that. I thought Kiffin might be someone we could all get behind but since that is off the board now I think we have to ride with Caddy.

He’s gone and I’m OK with that he stuck around this year when he could have hit the portal, played for UGA and upped his draft position a long way. Plus way Hunter has come on this year we have a solid RB1 going into next year as long as he stays.

We have played good enough on offense to have a chance in this game but no plan whatsoever on defense.

I take back all the nice things I have been saying about the defense they look totally inept today. It’s like they had no plan today. Just getting shredded.

The defense is not the problem. I think whoever the HC is he would be well served to keep the coaches intact. I can’t imagine a better RB coach than Caddy and I believe he should be Assistant HC too. Our deficiencies on offense are the O-line, QB and receivers. Something must be done there.

I sat through that game too. Thankfully we were under the upper deck on the east side and it helped keep the rain off us. Man it poured and poured that day. When Auburn got the field goal I thought it was over. Our punter kept pinning them back inside the 10, the defense was playing great and it hadn’t been for the bad snap on one of the kicks they never would have gotten across midfield all day. When Stabler got loose after Gusty Yearout got tackled that was a sickening sight to see his slow ass slogging down the sideline to win the game.

I was there, my first year as a student. What a glorious day!

I don’t think or defense is the problem. I would keep them.

Gonna have to bring a pass rush in the second half. That QB is just standing back there and he is too accurate to let him do that.

Agents for coaches express interest in other jobs for their guy all the time trying to up the ante in their current job. Franklin and Dabo are not coming to Auburn. Period.

Regardless of what happens with the HC hire Caddy needs to be part of the program. My thought on him being the HC is that he is too nice a guy for that. A HC in the SEC has got to be ruthless. I just can’t see Caddy being able to run off an assistant that needs to go because of poor performance. He would be thinking about the guy personally or thinking about what he is doing to the guy’s family situation. Same with a player that is messing up and needs to go for the good of the team. I want Caddy in a role where he is a face of the program. The recruiting coordinator, RB Coach and Assistant HC, something like that. He has done a great job of bringing the team together in a bad situation and giving them a chance to win. I just don’t think it’s in his wheelhouse to make the tough decisions a HC must be able to make.

Lanning is not going to be the coach at Auburn. Neither is Urban Meyer or Bob Stoops or Nick Saban. I don’t care what your friend said who has a friend who is Yella Fella’s second cousin twice removed. It won’t be anyone far fetched. Cohen and Roberts will make the decision and the coach will very likely come from the list of names you see being floated around. Likely Freeze, Kiffin, Sanders or Grimes.

Kiffin was young and cocky when he was at UT and USC. As he matured he went through the Saban Coach Rehabilitation Clinic and, in the process, actually transformed the “ram it down their throats” stale offense Saban had used throughout his tenure to the dynamic version he uses today with great effectiveness. I think in the end they learned from each other. I really think Kiffin can transform Auburn from the mess we have had since the rest of the teams in the conference figured out the Gus Bus after Nick Marshall graduated in 2014. If and when the Lane Train comes to Auburn the writing will be wall for Saban to head toward retirement the same way Bear knew it was over after seeing what Dye was creating across the state. The same way Tubby knew it was over when he saw what Saban was building.

My final take on Freeze is if you can take Liberty (LIBERTY!!!) into Arkansas and beat them on their home field you are a heck of a coach. The team he just beat had knocked Auburn all over our home field the previous Saturday.

I thought the guy’s fought their asses of tonight. The same deficiencies that the team has had all year, namely lack of an offensive line, cost them what would have been a morale boosting victory.
