  1. I would like to think the defense gives us some chance but I’m not counting on the offense to do much of anything. UGA is going to camp out on the run because we take ourselves out of the passing game with holding penalties, QBs missing open receivers, receivers running the wrong routes, receivers dropping catchable balls, etc., etc., etc. Plus they have a great secondary. So the only way Auburn has any chance is if it is a very low scoring game and UGA has a few turnovers in their end of the field. That way maybe we get 5 FG and hold them to two touchdowns. If they score 17 or more it’s probably over.
  2. Run the dang ball! We already know we can’t pass so button up the chin straps, man up and take it right at them. If they stop it they stop it. All the passing attempts are doing is getting us behind the chains because of sacks, holding penalties, dropped balls and inaccurate throws. Recognize your limitations!
  3. We have the coaching staff to turn things around over the next few years but there ain’t no quick fix for what ails the Auburn offense. It’s ugly, it’s been ugly for several years now and it’s likely to be ugly for a while longer. We have some good looking RB’s that’s about it for the offense the rest is not SEC caliber.
  4. The one thing I saw with Geriner is he looked more comfortable back there than the other two. Of course, the other elements of his game may be what’s lacking.
  5. Until they do something with the O line it doesn’t matter who they start QB. They both looked like a deer in the headlights because they know they don’t have any protection, particularly off the edges. Maybe it’s time to put two blocking TE’s on the line and take a receiver off the field. There is no use in spreading the field if you know you can’t block the front. If they couldn’t block A&M they sure as heck can’t block UGA or LSU. There is no use in continuing to do the same thing when you know it ain’t gonna work because of the deficiencies in personnel.
  6. I don’t think you can judge anything by what happens next week. UGA is simply better at most positions. Maybe a couple of our DB’s or RB’s are as good as theirs but you look at the both the lines and the receivers and I don’t we have a one that could start for them. It’s likely going to be just as ugly or worse than what we witnessed today.
  7. With the Auburn O line up against the Georgia D front it ain’t gonna matter who the QB is I’m just hoping nobody gets hurt.
  8. We knew Auburn had a long way to go. The deficiencies certainly showed up today. I don’t think there is any use in talking about the QB position when they are playing behind an O line as porous as we saw today. Joe Friggin Montana in his prime would look like crap playing behind that mess. Ain’t nothing gonna fix it but recruiting and development. I was hoping for a short term solution from what they got out of the portal and maybe they will get better as the season progresses but I’m not holding my breath. It’s lack of talent pure and simple.
  9. With all the talk about the O line being so much better I thought we would see improvement but it’s just not there. They were simply manhandled today. No different from last year.
  10. O line is no better than last year. Just a mess.
  11. This is a perfect game for us. Low scoring defensive struggle and it can probably be won with a single TD. If we can find a way to get in the end zone the defense has got this.
  12. Show up. Play 4 quarters of good clean football. Give yourselves a chance to win.
  13. I definitely think Auburn can win this game. The defense has been very good and that usually gives a team advantage on the road. The offense is a work in progress but they came on in the 2nd half last week when the QB started running. They will need more of that on Saturday.
  14. You just can’t tell much about how the offense is really going to work when they are turning the ball over like they were last week. That threw the whole thing out of sync. Plus the O line did not appear to be nearly as good as advertised. The QB just appeared to be nervous probably because he didn’t trust the protection on passing downs.
  15. The O line was also my major concern. All year we have been hearing how much better they are but I just don’t see it so far. The pressure on the QB was constant and there weren’t any holes for the running game. 52 has also looked like the weakest link to me. Hopefully they will get better with more reps.
  16. Asante is a beast! Without him we lose that game badly.
  17. I just expected better from the O line. That is what I am disappointed about so far. Plus the general lack of poise.
  18. Thanks my wife had it on the wrong station! That other thing is still insane!
  19. Are y’all watching the sh** show ESPN is putting on with the 6 clowns on the sideline led by that Bozo McAfee ? OMG they are taking a great game and making it not about the teams it’s all about “their guys”. The SEC needs to take a stance that they can never do that again in one of our games! I mean WTF were they thinking?
  20. Auburn could not have done any better than Freeze. He brought in a great staff, he is a great coach and Auburn is his dream job. He wants to be at Auburn long term and 3 years from now Auburn will be back in the upper tier of the SEC. Deion is all about Deion. Kiffin is all about Kiffin. Three years from now who knows where they will be.
  21. Here we go getting my hopes up again with all this positive news. It happens every year. I’m not falling for it this time. I’m not gonna fully buy in till they manage to somehow pull off an upset when they get to the A&M, UGA, LSU stretch.
  22. They should be able to name the score against UMass and Samford and exceed those totals in those games alone. Who knows how long he will leave Thorne in those games so a lot of the totals might go to Ashford and/or Geriner. Cal is a total unknown. I don’t think the results of any of those games have anything to do with what will happen at A&M the level of competition is totally different.
  23. Quick pass to the TE (Fairweather) running straight down the seam for a 20 yd gain.
  24. Bear Bryant once said if a laundromat in Tuscaloosa named them national champions they were going to take it and that has pretty much been their standard. I don’t think we should go that far but we should at least claim the ones where some legit organization named us. I have also never understood why when USC was stripped of the title in 2004 and Auburn was the only remaining undefeated major college team why was the title not awarded to us?
