Tresvik's stat is surprising. Guess it explains why Packer is on the bench. I like it when Tresvik is in left and Packer in center. These teams we've played won't help our RPI, but next week will be different.

Penta was not sharp at all. She scuffled the whole time she was in. I think fatigue was a factor. She had 93 pitches in 4 innings. Her rise ball wasn't sharp at all and she gave up some hard hit balls. The good news is Widra moved from 3rd to relieve Penta and looked pretty good. The AP pitcher kept us off balance most of the game and the zone started getting smaller later in the game. I thought the scoring on the home run was generous. I believe it should have been ruled a 4 base error. The RF was parked at the fence and the ball came off her glove. I know the sun was tough out there, but... Blaine never slowed down and scored easily. Looks like Tresvik's bat has won her the CF postion. She's got some pop with another dinger today. Late in the game she moved to LF and Packer came in. We won these games we should win, which is a positive, but today was a liitle too close after we run-ruled them Friday.

First 2 of her career. Funny, she was using Godwin's helmet. Wonder whose bat she used. I will say this. She executed a perfect sac bunt and it really seemed to spark the team. Observations from Saturday games. Rolfe is not ready for the SEC. Her control is non-existent. Her pitches were all over the place and several were not close. She has to work on that to be a useful member of the team. My concerns with Widra continue. I know the strike zone was the size of a postage stamp and she was frustrated, but as a pitcher, you have to adjust. Also, if she is going to pitch and hit, it raises the question of how to replace her in the order when she is taken out? Big dilemma as it weakens the order. Replacing her bat with Penta? I don't think anyone wants Penta or Lowe running the bases very much. Too much risk. Oh, and the Bri Bomb was a no doubter. Maybe that will take some pressure off and she can pop some more.

Yes. Thanks for the rule explanation Slot. I like the new rule much better as well. Penta was her usual dominating self. Her changeup mixed with her power pitching is wicked. Lowe looks even better than she did 2 years ago IMO. I don't recall her using a rise ball that much and she is using it quite effectively now. I don't count last year, but it seems like she depended on her curve and off speed her freshman year. She looks stronger and has more zip on her pitches. Good to have her back. Not sure about Widra's pitching yet and whether she's ready for SEC competition. Need to see more of her pitching, but her bat has got to be in the lineup somewhere.

I had heard she was working on a drop in fall ball. Now she can attack all planes in the strike zone. As CMD said, the progress she's made since her freshman year is amazing. She is going to be tough this year.

Saw where Bama dropped their opening game to Lehigh. Fouts came in to a tie game with runners on and gave up a 3 run double. The Bammer blog I read was dogging Murphy big time. First opening game loss since 2010 and according to the blogger, the first opening day loss to a non Power 5 team ever. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

We can't get the clutch hit when we need it in multiple innings. That sounds too familiar. Have to question the choice of pitchers early in the game, but great to see Shelby look like herself again. Overall, very disappointing.

I will be disappointed if we don't get a couple of run-rule wins this weekend. Maybe not against the Big 10 teams, but the others? Yeah.

I have a coworker who lives in rural Autauga County who saw it and in his words "bout soiled himself." He lives a few miles away from the site where the fatalites occurred. We all telework and we were telling him to get downstairs and hunker down. He survived a tornado back in 2011 in the same area. It's amazing that there wern't any serious injuries at that day care in Selma where 70 kids were. God was watching over them. On days like Thursday, everyone needs to be weather aware. There are too many excellent phone apps for anyone to be caught unaware.

Got some cool socks. When I first read the label, I wondered if we are considered too stupid to know how to wear socks, then I figured out it was the brand name. LOL.

We may not win this Saturday, but I was happy to watch us play AUBURN FOOTBALL again. Bammer's in for a fight.

Same here. She has such a strong arm and I was hoping she could settle in as our RF. Also saw where the 2021 Big 10 Pitcher of the Year (Alex Storako) is transferring from Michigan to OU. The rich get richer.

In the photo with the article, you can tell she's been spending time in the gym. Coming from a quality program like Michigan is big plus. If Shelby can heal up and come back strong, we will be loaded at pitcher.
