I like that latest Lunardi prediction. I think it gives us the best chance. Easiest of the four in my opinion. Kansas without Dickerson. NC, who is currently getting beat by NC State and an Arizona team that is beatable, for sure. Give me this outcome and I will feel good.....not great but better than if we were in one of the other three brackets.

Look at it this way. We have more money now to spend post spring on any remaining needs. I am not upset with this. If we didn't have the stacked WR's class we just pulled in.....maybe but I think this actually could be a good thing. Not making excuses for losing him, it would have been a good get but in the long run, I think this is not that bad of a thing. Now we move on.

Put pressure on their guards making it hard for them to dribble or advance the ball - They are prone to high turnovers. We are one of the best in 3pt field goal defense. They rely on 3pt baskets. Make it tough. Hand in the face without fouling. Be physical, if that's possible without getting into foul trouble. It is the primary reason Tennessee won by the margin they did. They made things very uncomforable, which Bama could not handle. We are the deepest team in the league, but we don't want to put our guys in foul trouble too early, especially Broome and Williams. Limit long droughts without baskets. Make free throws. Can't give away points from the line.

Well, if nothing else we can find out during the last visit what Bama offered to get him to cancel the UT visit. We can then decide if we want to match or exceed. How important is he with 4 very good WR's already in the stable and could the money required be better used for other needs? Guess that is where we are at now. Let's just hope he doesn't cancel his visit to us. If so, we know the answer.

I think this week will tell us a lot more about our team. Road games at Bama and Miss. St. will show us what we are really made of. Need to be focused for each game and not think to highly of ourselves. I think Bruce has been trying to instill that into the team. The moment you think you are "all that" is the moment you get a reality check. Stay humble, stay hungry, and take care of business. Nothing more.....nothing less.

One game at a time but I think we win tomorrow. Ole Miss at home over the weekend is very favorable. Next week will show us what kind of team we really have. Alabama and Mississippi State on the road. Survive that and we finish off the month with Vandy again at home. I think we will be at the very least 17-4 or at best 19-2. We shall see. Again, one game at a time.

Get passed Vandy (especially if it's by double digits and on the road) and I think we finally reach the Top 10.

Alot of the teams above us got beat or had a rough go of it today. We should move up the polls substantially again this week. Wouldn't be surprised to be #10. I like the direction we are heading in. Keep getting better. Sky is the limit.

Is there still time over the weekend to still get any more transfers in time to go through spring training? What is the cutoff date for enrollment?

I am really hoping they lose a number of players over the next month. Follow that up with an average season and a drop off in the next recruiting cycle. I think DeBeor will put together a pretty good team his first season, but I also think it will likely be a 3 loss team. Would be good if they are unable to make the 12 team playoff, but I think it would take 3 losses for them to not make it in. If we could finish the season with a good record (at least 8 wins) including the IB, I feel that would set us on the right path of retaking the state in the very near future. Things are looking up. Question is.....how much of a drop off will Alabama be.

If this is actually true, in my mind this is a good thing. I think Lanning would do really well at Alabama. He also has a strong footprint in the SEC, having been at Georgia. He would have hit the ground running, probably held on to most of their current roster including this signing class. Think we dodged a bullet.

Can you imagine if Saban retires, Kirby goes to the NFL and Kelly goes to Michigan (that is if Harbaugh leaves for NFL also)?

I am being to change my mind and think.......go all in and get Cam Ward for the 1 year to stabilize things. It will boost morale. It will increase chances of getting RW. It will likely ensure that you have a better product on the field (all we are asking for is progress from year to year until we are competing with the big dogs again). Pay the money. He has not signed an agent yet, making it possible. I believe he would listen.

Rough day all the way around. OC and DC gone (could be good or bad, remains to be seen). Salter's exits the portal. Scott enters the portal. Beyond today, the portal season has been very weak. Only good things that have happened lately is Kelly being hired and a good HS recruiting class. The latter could dissolve with another subpar season. Still a long way to go and a lot could happen, but right now things are not looking good for the foreseeable future. I really hope I am wrong, and thing turn around soon.

Based on what's currently available, I think it would be either McCloud or Jefferson. Not that I am overly excited about either but likely only ones available that we might could afford. We are where we are. Really wish we could solidify the OL more than anything. Need some really good pass blocking to give whomever is our time to see and throw. OL is the one position that I think we are desperately hurting at. The other being the DL. Until we get those two positions corrected, we are going to continue to have major issues.

I think we all had high expectations of PT when he joined the team based on his MSU stats. I think we all envisioned him as a pocket passer for the most part. He didn't start out well the first half of the season. I think we expected him to be accurate with his passes and to pass more often. That didn't happen. Partly due to PT, partly the play calling, and partly due to WR not catching the ball. Joint responsibility by all parties. Half way through the season, it seemed that PT started to figure out the read-option more. We discovered that Robbie was not the only one that could run the ball. From that point forward it looked like PT trusted the WR's less and preferred to run the ball more, limiting the pass attempts. To be honest, its up in the air if PT can get better or figure things out. Will he get better play calling, will he be able to trust his WR's and will he start focusing on pass first, run second (likely depends on if the OL can pass block or not). I really don't know. Difficult situation to be in with a stud crew of WR's coming in. Freeze has to figure it out. If the passing game continues the way it ended, the WR's will portal and Freeze will be on the hot seat. I do believe he understands that next season must show a vast improvement over this one or things will get uncomfortable quickly. He has from Jan. 1 - Aug. 31 to get things figured out. Hopefully he finishes the portal strong and reels in RW. I don't think Montgomery is the answer at OC, so either call all the plays yourself or go get a very good OC. Then you can focus on recruiting and portal shopping and trust your coordinators to handle their sides of the ball.

Having said that, if you can't get one of the top 5, you roll with what you have. If you are willing and fortunate to get one of those (probably McCloud and Jefferson are only realistic possibilities) (if PT and HG don't like it, you let them walk), you bring him on board and ride with transfer portal addition, either PT or HG (whichever does not leave - hopefully both don't), HB and WW. At the same time, the OL has to be addressed and improved.......especially on pass blocking. I think the WR will be improved regardless of how green the HS recruits will be. 2 of the Freeze 4 will be impact players from the get go. Either Freeze has to do the play calling exclusively or you have to replace Montgomery with a much better OC. In my opinion, all these things have to happen in order for us to improve on offense. I think we will be fine on defense, if we can add a couple of DL from the portal that can be better run stoppers to take the pressure off the LB's and DB's. There could be new QB transfer portal additions in the coming days as the bowl games wrap up, but this is what's available as of now. As has been mentioned, we have multiple issues on offense, not just the QB play. The OL deficiencies (pass blocking in particular), play calling, WR deficiencies (route running and catching the ball in particular). All have to be addressed (Captain Obvious). We'll see how things play out. We are on the clock now. There has to be improvement in year 2 in several of these areas (not expecting miracles given what Freeze started with) for me and a majority of the fan base to be encouraged moving forward. These are my final post season thoughts. Looking forward to seeing how the team looks and what is being reported regarding progress after spring ball.

I think you figure out a way to get him onboard. If it is a scholarship, then so be it. How many players do we have on scholarship that will never sniff the playing field. I know you have to have those type guys for scout team ect.... but if for some reason AM were to get hurt or could not go, you want someone who can step in and fill in.

Last I heard is that he is deciding on a PWO + NLI with Auburn or a scholarship with Ole Miss. Not sure if there has been an update since hearing that or when his timetable might be for a decision.

I think if we can get Harris and add two solid DL from the portal and we will be stout on defense.
