There is a character difference and it’s not in the favor of who you think it is. Basketball, would be the only sport comparable in terms of a real championship tournament. You are comparing completely different sports and really makes no sense. Football is only twelve games and I can say that if Hugh won 10 games a year he would probably never get fired without ever winning the SEC.

Question….but hasn’t AU gone after that guy? Cooper, Holloway and now Pettiford. Although, I just read that he may play the 2 more next year. Throw in Isaac, Herron and Powell, and Bruce has recruited 1 and 2 guys, the problem is keeping them. Sears is what, a fourth or fifth year player. If Auburn went after that player, fans would be screaming, why did we sign that guy. He has developed his game over time and is now playing with such confidence that he is hard to stop. Plus he’s playing in a system that allows players to play the way most want to play, shoot and get up and down the court. Give Oats credit, the man can recruit shooters.

Not sure or maybe you do, but just like throwing stuff out there that really makes no sense. Being “middle of the SEC “ puts you in the top 15 in country. In the last ten years , 6 SEC teams have been National Champions with several others making the championship finals. The goal is get to Omaha. Butch has done that more than anyone. SEC championship are great but it might be harder to win that, than the National Championship.

I understand that he had control on who he recruited, that’s a given. He chose not to. Why beat a dead horse? There are plenty of guys Auburn could play “well if only we had this guy on the team “. What I fail to see is why him, Auburn didn’t want him and didn’t even go after him. Auburn had some chances of actually keeping some players, why not hypothetically ask what if they had been on the team? Or what if Aden had developed more?

So, I’m still not understanding the whole Sears thing. Why are so many people focusing on him? Is it because there is someone on here that knows the guy and that he had family that was associated with AU? Supposedly, AU didn’t recruit the guy. This whole argument is a bit of joke. He wasn’t recruited. The better conversation would be if someone that was on Auburn’s team or actually recruited to come to Auburn. why not discuss Shariff and Thor staying last year and playing with Jabari and Kessler? They both could have used another year to elevate their draft status. And lastly, if Aden had gained any confidence throughout the season and played just at a slightly higher level, Auburn would have gotten beat yesterday by UConn instead of SDSU
