Indeed. We should beat them easily. I'm not sure that anyone is worried that we lose the game, but this now seems like a team that previous regimes would have played down to (closer win than should happen given the talent gap). Need a dominant win on Saturday to make that uneasy feeling go away and start the Freeze era off on the right foot.

My guess is that these NIL estimates are overblown, but I agree. You are going to have top guys staying in college rather than leaving for the NFL because the money is better in college 🤷‍♂️ Seems highly unsustainable.

Hard for me to predict a W given the talent gap, but I'm not convinced UGA is an automatic loss. We're they're first road game and they'll have a new QB in an electric JHS with Bobo as their OC. I think we lose to TAMU, LSU, and Arky. Split UGA and Bama. 8-4

Thompson is announcing today, correct? I think he flips, but if he's at Big Cat and somehow announces for Bama, there's going to be a meltdown. Not to mention a momentum killer.

Hard to tell much of anything, but I did see enough from Sean Jackson that makes me think he should get some meaningful touches in the fall. At least in short yardage and goal line situations.

I think in this new era of CBB it's going to be hard to develop 4 and 5 star guys. These guys expect to play right away and will transfer if they don't (obviously). What will hopefully come of this are two things: 1) Next time we get 4 and 5 star guys they can contribute. It is definitely puzzling that Westry and Traore didn't contribute more considering this seemed to be one of the lesser talented teams that Bruce has had in a while. Might need to evaluate better. 2) 4 and 5 starts that didn't play at other programs and are now in the portal will transfer in and contribute. Need to get some real SEC-level players in the portal this year.

I think the issue from a talent standpoint is that so far Traore and Westry seem to be misses. This is essentially last year's team, but subbing Broome for Jabari/Walker - and Broome is a downgrade from both those guys. We really needed a young guy to come in and step up, but we aren't getting any production from our new additions.

Agree. This system worked with Harper and Brown, but the undersized guards we have now don't have the shooting talent of Harper, much less Brown. Bruce needs to focus on finding real shooters at the guard position or transition to bigger guards.

Seems like he could be a good hire. I don't know why so many confuse lack of experience with lack of prowess. I'm glad to see younger guys get a shot rather than hiring some retread because they have experience.

Agreed. We have to show improvement from year to year with Freeze. I think he should be able to be at least .500 in year 1 then if he can get to 8 wins (or more) in year 2, we're in a good spot. If the on field result doesn't trend in the right direction within the first 2 years, recruiting prowess will likely dip.

It always amazes me that the "savior" QB is always some guy in the portal and never anyone on the current roster that just needs some development. If you can get a McCall or a Leary you take them because of their body of work, but missing on both doesn't mean we don't have a competent QB on the roster.
