  1. Let's hope so. Finley does not appear to be the answer and we haven't seen any of DD yet. We're in a bad spot without a transfer (Geriner does look like a beast though).
  2. Topic for another forum, but as a non- athlete I chose Auburn based on it's academic merits at the time. Since that choice, Auburn has remained the same from an academic ranking standpoint while others have elevated. Can't blame the kid for checking out Michigan. They have more to offer from an academic (and football) standpoint at this moment.
  3. I wasn't recruited as an athlete, but when I was going through the college process I definitely had a short list that was made up of schools I could see myself at for 4 years. At this point, there are probably a few still weighing those final pros and cons, but I doubt the coaches are flying to see kids who they feel wouldn't want to spend 4 years at Auburn.
  4. It does seem odd to mention it. For all we know, Venables "passed" on the Auburn job for the same reason I did: it wasn't ever offered...
  5. 49 pages, but no one knows πŸ˜‚
  6. SIAP https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/auburn-football/auburn-down-to-3-candidates-for-offensive-coordinator-opening-per-report/ Zak Hill, Kittley and D. Craig Seems like Craig or Hill could have been announced already. Kittley just played last night.
  7. I don't think some air raid passing concepts would be bad IMO. I think it would show some smarts on Harsin's part. OL is our weakness and likely will be for a couple years. Any hope of winning now will be predicated on the QB getting the ball out quickly and that's exactly what air raid is.
  8. Money guys need to pay up for a proven, big name then, which they haven't done historically. I'm not buying it. No point in churning through unproven coaches every 3 years. Pay up for big name or STFU. Harsin gets 4 years unless 2023 is Gene Chizik abysmal.
  9. Fire up the motorcycle 🏍️
  10. I could see it, but I hope for Bo's sake he doesn't do that. Going back to Gus gets him another year of college, but no shot at the NFL. If he stays at Auburn or makes a more informed decision to transfer somewhere other than UCF, he has a shot at getting drafted.
  11. I don't disagree, but he did lose to Cincinnati.
  12. This was also Gus's problem according to pretty much everyone on this board. Harsin obviously came in with a plan and was likely hired because of said plan. There is a difference between thinking you know it all and sticking with a plan long enough to see it doesn't work. I don't see how a guy that hasn't even been on the job a full year yet could even be in a position to assess a plan he hasn't had time to fully put in motion. As fans, we need to give him time to implement his plan before we're ready to cast him aside. If Harsin's initial plan isn't at least a little successful in the next couple years, we won't get to see him adjust because he will be gone. This is the SEC. He's got one shot to prove his plan works. He's going to take that shot. We may not like the immediate results, but we should support Harsin and this team as he shoots the shot he was hired to shoot.
  13. Agreed, he wouldn't be better here. The thing that gets me about OU is they have seemed to take transfers from other places and make them look like world beaters (Mayfield, Murray, Hurts). It's great for them, but I don't think it would work the other way where a guy that didn't pan out at OU would go somewhere else and be better.
  14. Agreed, but it's where we are in the coaching market. Nothing is going to keep him at MSU if a more prestigious program comes calling. The only way to keep them away is a huge contact. Now MSU is stuck in said contact and has set the market for other coaches. This isn't sustainable.
  15. This is where CFB and the SEC are going, IMO. In the playoff or bust goal for most schools, it would make sense that coaches would favor places where the path to said playoff is easier. Much easier to get the west coast kids to stay home and pitch a path to the playoff rather than trying to run the gauntlet and be fired in 4 seasons when you don't make the playoff through the SEC.
  16. Thanks for sharing. These are the only opinions that really matter. We have a first year coach whose players and the parents of players are behind. We as fans should keep it in perspective.
  17. If we had done that and not converted, people would be on here calling for Harsin's head (more than they already are πŸ˜‚)
  18. Loy is definitely worse. I saw all I ever needed to see from him at A-Day. DD on the other hand is a head scratcher...
  19. No reason to think Auburn will win this game, but that's why we will πŸ˜‚ Auburn - 31 Bama - 24
  20. Maybe not, but the coaching market is crazy this year. A lot of open jobs, but very few good candidates. You're seeing this play out with some of the recent extensions (Tucker and Franklin). If UW truly thinks Harsin is the guy, they will pay up. The market is demanding it.
  21. He lost to them last year so...
  22. Bobo has to go, but Mason is getting another year (not saying he deserves one). Mason was a hot commodity and nationally regarded as a huge get for Auburn. Hopefully he improves because we can't have another year like this on D.
  23. Don't remember exactly who, but there were at least a couple of posts in the game thread about Tank transferring. I completely understand his frustration, but why would he transfer? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ He's RB1 at an SEC school. Talent is undeniable and he go go to the NFL after next year. If he transfers he has to sit a year. What am I missing here?
  24. Every day except Saturday I guess πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚
