We definitely need to switch to Nike. No idea how big of an impact that it’s had on these misses, but we have to stop handicapping our coaching staffs. They should be on a level playing field with every other big school.

The issue with a good WR coach is not our WR’s catching the ball, it is getting separation with footwork and blocking on the perimeter. That’s coaching. Catching the ball is solely on the focus of the WR at this point in their career.

100% agree - I was just talking to my dad about this yesterday. He asked me, “if Vandagriff was so good then why isn’t he seeing any playing time?” I reminded him that he’s playing for the same coach that was going to let Justin Fields ride the bench for his career.

I’m really hoping that this year will be a reverse of last year. We struggled down the stretch last year after losing close games where we just couldn’t get over the hump offensively. Thats how we’ve started this year. But if our freshman can develop - especially Traore and Westry, then maybe we can finish the year strong in time for the tournaments.

100% agree - we need both. I’m ecstatic that we are finally getting big men at Auburn like Kentucky has been doing for years. But we need guys at PG, SG, SF, and maybe the stretch 4 that can shoot 3’s consistently. We’ve been pretty bad the past 2 years.

One thing I’ve noticed that concerns me about Bruce. He’s gone away from what got him there. We were a 3-point shooting team when we made it to the final four. In the last few years we’ve relied on talent down low instead of the three ball. Bruce is definitely no Gus, but It brings back terrible memories of Malzahn going away from the zone read after Nick Marshall and recruiting a completely different style QB. We need shooters!

Apparently Ace Bailey is good friends with baby Shaq, so maybe Peyton Marshall’s commitment helps here and with others…

We need to hire Jeff Scott as OC/WR coach and Mark Freeman as QB coach. Freeman can help us finally land some Thompson players. Throw the bank at Jim Leonard and settle for Zach Arnett as DC if he turns us down. Third option would be to bring back Kevin Steele. But absolutely under no circumstances are we to hire Todd Grantham.

I would offer Jim Leonard $3 million for the DC job.

He’s supposedly willing to come back, but he’s going to weigh that with the options he gets in the portal.

The portal opens tomorrow! What are we waiting on?! We saved between $3-5 million on Freeze over Kiffin - why aren’t we throwing that at coordinators & assistant coaches? Freeze is going to have egg on his face if he doesn’t come up with a big name hire like he was referencing in his press conference!

Just give me Arkansas’ OC & DC at this point. Much rather have Odom than Grantham or any of the other names being thrown out. Heck, bring back the Steele curtain over any of those other names!
