  1. I say we go get Skip Holtz. He knows the south, CFB royalty, he's coached up conference championship winning teams (not to mention just won the USFL Championship).
  2. Don't forget Jeff Fischer. He's available.
  3. Again, it makes no sense. If you know you're going to fire him, fire him. Don't make up stuff to weasel out of the contract. And after the attempted coup, you should've manned up and paid the man because whether you cut him today or he runs out his contract, he's due the money agree to. You're not saving any money and when you openly express your intentions to cut someone but continue to pay them, you only incentivize said employee to not want to earn their paycheck. But maybe someone with more business sense can explain to me how I'm off...
  4. Bill O'Brian. Literally saved Penn State from the death penalty, NFL experience, and current student of the Nick Saban Rehabilitation School For Coaches Who Can't Coach Good & Also Want To Do Other Things Good Too
  5. In many ways we are still reaping the fruits (or lack thereof) that Malzahn had sown, particularly in our roster. But Harsin is quickly showing he doesn't have what it takes to overcome that disadvantage. Our Offensive and Defensive lines were absolutely whipped by Penn State's all day long. The same two lines (save for a few players) are the same guys who almost beat Penn State in Happy Valley last year, yet despite all we've heard about players improving in off-season S&C or positional development we come out and look worse against Penn State than we did a year ago AND we were at home. So the question is, what is even the gameplan? How do you sell the admin, recruits, or fans your vision when there's little to no proof of concept in year two? This is a game we needed to win in order to show a clean break from the downward trajectory started against Miss State. You could've even had an argument had we only lost close... But no, this team got taken to the woodshed and barring some sort of "eurika" in our players' development, we are dangerously close to the wheels flying off.
  6. It amazes me how many people's opinion on orange jerseys are based simply on the fact that Pat Dye hated orange. Or at least it sure seems that way...
  7. "Clemsburn" is trash, but I would gladly take Orange top and or Orangmageddon 😁
  8. A bad throw is better than a bad read. TJ's upside was going to be based solely on his ability to game manage. On both interceptions TJ seemingly stared down his receiver and tried to force the ball to him. That's just bad decision making... Now mechanically TJ looks much improved, and I'm sure he has better command of the offense... But if you gift two balls to a Penn State, LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas... They won't be as forgiving as Mercer.
  9. I'll take "Posts That Didn't Age Well" for $500, Alex...
  10. If they fire Harsin to turn around and hire Freeze even after his latest Twitter tirades, our boosters are even stupider than I give them credit for. You may as well just hire Art Briles...
  11. I could see a revamped push if Russaw were to commit elsewhere.
  12. On Calzada: Couple of things I'm hearing is that his grasp of the playbook has been lacking and he may have tweaked/injured his throwing shoulder in a freak non-football related incident, leading to his lack of accuracy.
  13. I think I would feel better about TJ if the narrative was "Calzada and Ashford have come gunning the job, and TJ as a result has improved to keep it". Instead the narrative seems to be "Calzada doesn't know the playbook and Ashford is as accurate as a Storm Trooper".
  14. Honestly? That would be optimal given the amount of meltdown over the insinuations of TJ starting. Ironically though, this past scrimmage sounds not too dissimilar to A-Day: TJ gets the starting nod, doesn't do terrible but yet Ashford appears to get the offense moving. Meanwhile Calzada remains behind due to injury/playbook familiarity/etc...
  15. Can TJ improve after his first full off-season at Auburn? Yes. But unlike say, Jeremy Johnson for instance, TJ hasn't had a game that inspires an excitement over his untapped potential. JJ took snaps in the paycheck games and first half vs Arkansas and looked like a sniper.... I watched TJ under-throw a 15-yd wheel route live in person. And I realize there's a good deal of hyperbole and biased revisionist history in my analysis, but I'm skeptical of TJ's "it factor". And as a team, we are not in a position yet where our ground game and defense can will us to 8, 9, 10+ wins. We need better than average quarterback play.
  16. Only SEC coach I know that coached for/with "Hars" is Eli Drinkwitz. Good job doxing yourself 😅
  17. Amateurs! The lot of ya! I'm calling my shot with Nick Brahms!
  18. Word has it that with the loss of Lew, we are going full-court press to flip Hughley. Either the previous report of Hughley playing our staff and beat writers for a bigger bag from Georgia is wrong or our staff's ability to read/gauge recruits' interest is wrong... The drama knows no end...
  19. Obligatory Orange jersey request post...
  20. I'm thinking we convert it into an indoor stadium and convert Jordan-Hare into a basketball arena. Since Jimmy Rane and Raymond Harbert don't want to play money ball with the big boys, we may as well drop down a division or two...
  21. Hars has some acting chops 👀
  22. Shoot. Apparently Dukes even drove Hughley to BCW... If I were Dukes and ever found out that not only was Hughley playing me, but was being fed pointers by UGA staff/ NIL collective, I'd sue their pants off for defamation.
  23. Javion Cohen 2.0 situation brewing... If there's any truth to this, I hope they publicly and spectacularly pull his scholarship offer. I don't even care if he mislead Auburn's coaching staff... but purposely deceiving Phillip Dukes, potentially killing his sports writing career? That's just despicable.
