Lane and Freeze is just low hanging fruit. We'd be crazy to buyout Lane for as much as he costs and Freeze has been campaigning hard since 2018. Personally I think the list should go: 1. Andy Reid 2a. Deion Sanders 2b. Jeff Grimes 3. Matt Rhule 4. Dave Clawson 5. Jamey Chadwell

I'll say this. Cohen had the wherewithal to move on from Joe Moorehead two years in and his record was better than Harsin's. Moorehead also beat an Auburn team in 2018 that should have been contending for a championship that year. Yet Cohen (and boosters presumably) recognized a culture misfit. And the hiring of Leach was a huge move for a school of State's caliber. The Pirate generates great media exposure.

With proper coaching and another season of experience, I think Robby could be Nick Marshall good, he's just not there yet. But O-line is the obvious elephant in the room. Of course I'd be hard pressed right now not to take literally any lineman in the portal. It sure feels like anyone would be preferable to what we've started this season...

The optics look bad because the situation is objectively bad. King and Dawson not getting playing time when they (and the rest of the starters not named Ja'varrious Johnson) got benched for true freshmen who have also under-produced. Z. Walker in a Kevin Steele defense would likely have gotten into the rotation. Diamond is buried on the depth chart, but of course he's still an underclassman so I'm not sure what greener pasture he's got his eyes on...

From what I've gathered it seems the only reason he's not been fired yet might be: • because no one wants to interim • or the AD doesn't feel the remaining staff is capable of being the interim. • Some have speculated that the new transfer portal windows might have forced the decision. Apparently players can enter the portal when a coach is fired officially and that starts the clock on when the new coach can start contacting the portal. • I've also heard that it may still be a money thing. Whatever the reason it seems the cost/benefit analysis according highest ups favors keeping Harsin until the end of the season.

Waste of time. We made a legally binding contract with him based on his previous accomplishments and the current market on coaching contracts. Deserved or not it doesn't matter. He is owed. Gone are the days of performance based incentives. You're not going to guilt or scold a coach into taking less than what is owed to him simy because he hasn't met your expectations, especially when said expectations are not a condition of one's employment.

Arkansas State might take him back. I'm sure they're greatly regretting hiring Butch Jones 😅

Bruh, terrible take. Matt Rhule hasn't been at Temple since 2016. Also, he hired the offensive mastermind of the 2019 LSU team to run his offense in Carolina... And everyone was wanting Joe Brady at their school including Auburn. If your concern is that he is going to hire a bunch of yesmen from directional schools, you are simply incorrect.

Scheme doesn't cover up the fact that we have a veteran O-line that has gotten worse every game. Or why our starting WRs outside of an occasional pass to Ja'varrious Johnson have gone MIA. Or why Pappoe and Shenker have regressed. I push back on the Jimmy's and Joe's argument because we're still playing mostly players recruited by Gus- players we beat Georgia, Alabama and Florida out for. Depth is an issue for sure, but we still have enough talent in this roster not to get embarrassed on the regular that we have for the last month. The entire potato bunch are simply not used to this level of competition and have shown no proof of concept

Harsin is now 9-9 at Auburn. Now could not be any better time to try and save face by both parties admitting it's not working.
