I heard Auburn was going to have a QB next year…….,wait may be in the wrong thread. Which QBs mom did Golf date? I am lost.

So, how long do they fill comfortable waiting for him to decide? Would it be better for him to leave now (if he is leaning that way) so AU can go after a starting caliber QB with no Bo to complete with?

I read the whole thing thought it would fit in. Some people need a little humor before they jump off and go into AU quarantine.

Wasn’t Gus good at recruiting and we complained he was to predictable on offense? Had a very good recruiting staff they just had a poor plan of who they needed to take at times. Now we want a recruiter as OC and we are not concerned about play calling or development. If you want to go all out with a recruiter, should it not be a position coach? The OC would have more responsibility than being a lead recruiter. Not that he should not at least be serviceable but his offense is a selling point. Also gives CH time to recruit himself.

My dog just told me that he heard one of the best OCs in the NFL was interviewed and turned us down. I can not confirm or Deny this. However, he does not know how to recruit so we probably do not want him anyway.

Sounds like some insider said Hill and found out he had bad information. (Speculation) Then Hill has problems so they were not technically wrong?Like the HC coach, no one knows and those that do are not talking.

I actually am am impressed with the way Auburn played this year. Just looking at talent, I thought 6 wins but at least 3 of those would be very bad loses. They did a good job of covering talent holes in games and kept us in every game. Even the Georgia game should have been closer. Offensive line played above what I thought they could do and Receivers improved a lot. Also, not having a mobile QB after Bo went down hurt. I would love to see what they do with their guys. Just got to recruit and use the transfer portal.

I like the progress many of the players have made. They came in with only one play maker on offense and that is still all they have but guys have contributed and improved. Defense still has no pass rush guys (hold over from last year). But I thought it would carry the team. Fail. CBH has to bring in some elite recruiters on this team! This is something that is lacking big time.

The way things are going, if he had said anything positive about DD we would have an immediate QB controversy. I like his potential but T.J. should be clear cut guy at this point. I do hope there is garbage time for DD Saturday. That means things went well.

I would play Bo Jackson and Cadillac at WRs. Not RBs so it still counts.

Anyone know how fast he is now? I know good hands and good routes trump speed a lot of time but, I am just curious.

I do not think anyone could reasonably think Auburn was going to change everything this year. I think we will be better next year but, I do not truly expect things to be turned around till year three of this coaching staff. Gus recruited speed at the receiver position without much thought on hands, route running or apparently coaching them up. Also, did not recruit lineman. Give coaches time to get their guys in and establish the culture he wants. I hate waiting but we have no choice.

Can’t be one dimensional anymore. QB is going to have to be at least decent for the run to work. If not they only will focus on stopping the run. Probably why they tried to pass as much as they did. It was what the defense was giving them. However, our young receivers could not take advantage of it.

Overall impressed with Coaching. We are lacking in a few spots when it comes to experience and maybe being a little out maned. I really thought the O line would get destroyed but they held up. The team showed fight and I think they will improve every game. I think they are heading in the right direction. On the QB play. Bo is what he is, a game manager type guy. Not a bad QB but not a guy that will take the game and win it by himself. If he had a few more play makers with experience to get the ball to he would look a lot better. Play calls hurt him at times but he is not going to make the play that amazes people.

I am excited about Jackson. Would love to see a walk on become a star before his time at AU is over!

I agree. It does not seem that they have had the backing of the school as much as they should. They finally got some facilities upgrades but, I would still say we are behind the most of the SEC. Granted, I could be wrong about facilities. They have an opportunity to upgrade things with the football team moving to a new facility. Will they renovate some of the old facilities for other sports like baseball or let them use the old indoor practice facilities? Update the fan experience at the park? Honor past players? There seem to be so much they could do the help recruit and build excitement.

Premature Comitilation?

I have a grad transfer question. How much ability do coaches have to seek interest in students that are eligible to transfer from another college. Do the players have to contact AU first or can they contact players to see if they may be an interest. I would think some smaller D1 linemen might be intested in a chance to compete in the SEC.

So this Williams kid? Any news, or are they recruiting KJ back from the lions?

It looks like the problem is Gus takes best available instead of need. If you take need every year and develop those players you have a good base of roll players. Hopefully those will be best available guys but if they are not, you still can not get behind on your recruitment plan. May not win mythical recruitment awards but you do not find the shelf empty. Some of the boards recruiting gurus correct me if I am wrong.

Saw a tweet with a pic of Rice offensive tackle Calvin Anderson hinting he may be receiving interest from AU.
