  1. We can certainly agree that it is a tragic event. One life was lost and another permanently changed.
  2. I assure you I can take a loaded pistol from my side to a shooting position in a milliseconds. If the gun is locked and cocked I can have a couple of rounds in a target in 1-2 seconds. Great to know after the fact. He was dispatched to a call about domestic violence. He knocked on the door and announced himself as ‘Sheriff’s Office’ twice, in uniform, in broad daylight. He wasn’t kicking in a door in the middle of the night. Good for your dad. I take a different approach. If I get pulled over by a cop for instance, I feel no need to reach for my pistol and have it in my hand when he comes to my car. I go out of my way to show hands. Shows respect for the officer, minimizes escalation, and maximizes my chance of not being shot by stubbornly clinging to ‘my rights’. Zero evidence he wanted to enter. Cops knock on doors legally all the time, simply gathering facts. This whole situation is tragic. But you’ve got this cop tarred and feathered. If he ends up needing a defense attorney, they will have plenty to work with. Like the picture below and the 4 LEOs massacred last week in NC.
  3. Happy to see this bunch take a series. Now time to make life hard on the Bammers next week!
  4. Did the video show if the gun was loaded and/or cocked? And if it was a revolver or semiautomatic?
  5. Great point. So why did the homeowner feel threatened enough to, in the middle of the day, to grab a gun simply by hearing a knock on his door by someone identifying themselves as the sheriff’s office? And if you truly feel threatened and have a weapon to defend yourself with, why open the door at all? Aren’t you safer calling 911 if you’re already armed and behind a locked door. This is a terrible tragedy but there are many questions to be answered before we absolve/imprison the officer. Let’s let the investigation play out.
  6. Butch has consistently landed strong recruiting classes. Our current class is 7th by some services. That’s how he’s gotten us to the CWS twice and Super Regionals. We need better pitcher development and more emphasis on strength and size in my opinion.
  7. Yes seriously. Israel has one of the world’s best militaries, the dome for missile defense, and they’re fighting an enemy with minimal tanks and no air power. Israel is also very sound financially, especially relative to their enemy. Hamas is being obliterated with minimal Israeli casualties(relative to Hamas casualties ). I think you’re confusing that situation with Ukraine, who is facing one of the worlds largest militaries while vastly outgunned and out manned and incapable of defeating Russia without massive aid. Biden has failed on many fronts but Israel is not weaker because of him. They are rock solid strong, independent of him.
  8. How has Israel been weakened? Last I checked they are obliterating Hamas day by day with a vastly superior military. When Iran barraged them with a missile strike they used their dome to come out unscathed. So please provide specifics on how they have been weakened by Biden.
  9. How many seconds do you think it takes someone with a gun already in their hand to kill you, while you’re processing what their intent may or may not be? Police shootings are always tragic and should be thoroughly investigated from every angle and perspective. I know this one will be.
  10. NC St and Purdue were in the Final Four. What was their NIL spend?
  11. The question no one is asking: Why are we paying for any of Israel’s weapons at all? Last time I checked, they are a fairly well to do nation fighting an impoverished enemy with no Navy or Air Force. Politics aside, ally or no ally, I’m tired of our tax dollars being squandered on bombs and bullets for the rest of the world. At some point enough is enough.
  12. I can’t believe I’m thinking this way, but as long as Brady Cook is their QB Mizzou will be a difficult game.
  13. Kudos to Butch for having a culture where these players continue to compete hard and play hard. Great to see them have some fun the past couple of games. A lot of young players flashing some talent. Hope they have a great series this weekend vs Mizzou.
  14. Some NIL collectives are already structuring their deals that way. But it is the NIL collective, and not the school.
  15. Two random observations: Cade Belyeu is going to be really good player in this league. And Carter Wright should’ve been playing more the past couple of seasons. Good hitter and puts the ball in play almost every at bat. Hate that he’s a senior.
  16. Butch needs to stay but needs more NIL support to be more competitive. He also needs to get some headline HS pitchers. Relying too much on JUCOs. They’re coming in with All American credentials but not adjusting to the SEC level of play in the 2 years they have. FWIW, the only sport we have, men’s or women’s that can sustain success is MBB with Bruce.
  17. The lineup is about 50% different than even a few weeks ago.
  18. Bo is getting first round money that he wouldn’t have gotten if had stayed at Auburn. That’s generational wealth for him and his family. So it’s irrelevant if he becomes an all pro or never starts a game. AU football failed to take advantage of a great talent once again.
  19. I would have to see the data on that. Historically the scientific data has consistently been in the 3-4% range. Kids declaring they’re gay because it’s trendy is a different set of stats altogether.
  20. I do believe that with the information flow today, it is easier to identify and call out the hypocrisy that is so prevalent in our culture. But I believe that the hypocrisy cuts across political lines. I also believe one of the worst setbacks for organized religion, especially in the South, has been the increased emphasis on world religion curriculums in the schools and shifting demographics. When I was in HS in the late 70s early 80s, we spent maybe a few days on ‘other’ regions and belief systems. When my kids went through HS to years ago, they had an entire semester and a dedicated textbook on it and came way highly informed on other options for belief systems and faiths. My HS in Etowah county was 95% Protestant, with a small handfuls of Catholics and even less Jewish students. My kids friends from grade school thru HS included Christians, Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Hindu, Shikh, LDS, Buddhists, and openly agnostic/atheist. It is much easier to dispel another faith or belief system if you aren’t educated on it and don’t have experience with its participants. Much harder to do when you’re educated on it and have friends with those beliefs.
  21. In your world it’s okay to hire people, then judge their sexual behaviors and to learn about their Only Fans sites in a workplace. Sounds like you need to do better hiring. I don’t know about my employees sex lives or bedroom activities, or Only Fans sites because we know it’s not appropriate to bring into the workplace.
  22. Yep. Use it almost every day on my job while discussing medical data. Also trained on it during my MBA program.
  23. Likely very well funded by some fine upstanding conservative church members.
  24. Can you name a major society that has crumbled because of the behavior of a tiny minority of the populous? Maybe study Rome. The decline was much more complex than what went on in the bedrooms of 3 or 4% of the population. It was about greed, political corruption, poor resource allocation (wars instead of infrastructure), excessive violence, etc.
  25. You think it’s okay to have those kinds of opinions and stereotypes of your female employees?
