  1. Agree. Technically, this is not a very well oiled team. Can’t win on the road against anyone with a heartbeat. For as much as BP has done for the program, I believe the ceiling has been reached with him as HC. Currently, I hate to see KY come into Neville next week and ruin the Game Day visit and the home streak, but it is becoming almost impossible to overlook some of the away losses against lesser teams.
  2. At this point, I tend to agree. Holloway is a complete bust. We need better scouts for HS kids.
  3. This team is not well rounded. If you are unable to beat mid tier teams outside of your home arena, then the big tourney will be a joke. We will finish around 4 in SEC and most likely get a 6 seed in the big tourney. This team is far too inconsistent away from home to be considered a serious threat to anyone. It’s been like this for the last three years. Good but far from special or great.
  4. Looks like Antonio Coleman is still with AU, but Bama and a few more are not out of the picture per him.
  5. Good Lord, if we are relying on an 18 year old talented PG, to lead this team, then we’ve been doomed. We have not had a good QB since Nix and he was ruined by bad coaching. He had a very good Freshman year, but GM had already slipped in recruiting what wins Championships, the OL and DL, which actually did what it could for years. Just a perception.
  6. I for one appreciate everything BP has done to get this BB program relevant again, but with that being said, after many years, I think he’s more a seller or recruiter than a coach that will ever win an NCAA tourney championship. I do believe we have possibly the best SEC team, but will not be surprised if we finish about fourth or even fifth. That’s good by our former standards, but I believe most of us have come to expect more from him. Maybe we go on another big tear. At this point, we need some good road wins. I would imagine we go from 8 to about 17 or 19 in the next poll, which would be correct in my opinion.
  7. Maybe we were overrated after wins against lesser competition. If you can’t win on the road, the tourney will get you. Gotta play good outside of your own cheering fans. We appear to struggle with that, even against lesser teams. Bad omen
  8. Exactly. The first year of the NEW era looked relatively the same as the last year of the previous two in my opinion. Hoping some of these highly rated recruits are actually coached up to their true potential and have a QB that can get the ball to them.
  9. I certainly hope that was not the case. I know that Freeze opened the QB competition back up after the Music City embarrassment, but not going after a portal QB is risky. I’ll compare it to Arthur Smith, the ex falcons coach who went with an unproven rookie and a journeyman type backup. Cost him his job. We will see.
  10. Agree. Good luck to them and see ya. We need to worry about our on field product. If coaches are an issue, then it’s better they are gone.
  11. Agree. Have no idea why Caddy and Zac left, but I won’t place blame on HF. This is his program now, so it’s time he show all of us something positive in 24. No more excuses from anybody.
  12. Well Saban is losing plenty to the portal, just as UGA is. It’s become a minor league professional football league.
  13. Gus had a decent run, but his plan had run out of steam. His recruiting was falling quickly. I just believe now, that it will be almost impossible to build a program from HS recruits, because they are now allowed to leave after one year, if unhappy. I believe Kiffin may be doing it better by recruiting the portal.
  14. I agree W.E.D. HF, outside of recruiting has impressed me less than BH. I just don’t see HF as near an intense enough coach so far. Example: Dan Campbell of the Detroit Lions, that’s a true motivator, be if by fear or just good true coaching. With the NIL, you just can’t build a program through HS recruits. There is always a one year and transfer possibility. I honestly don’t expect HF to be, even as successful as GM was or actually wasn’t. College Football is truly ruined. Great programs can hang and adjust, but we are very far removed from a great program. This is College Football now. It sux.
  15. Kiffin is a much greater OC than HF could ever dream of. There is no comparison there.
  16. Thank you for this post. Could not agree more. I think the up tempo offenses have been figured out now, by strong defenses. Unfortunately, even with all these hopeful great receivers coming in, I see little reason to be overly confident in next years O either, so I don’t think it will matter who the OC is.
  17. If he leaves, we will have to replace entire secondary.
  18. Was Gus’s too and he crapped out quickly, but got plenty of raises and extensions. Ive never seen how HF is any different. GM had great recruiting classes his first 4 years or so, but was unable to develop some of the main players. At least he tended to accept responsibility, which is what HF has done very little of. I’m not trashing him, but I also have very little faith in him outside of getting a top recruit in here for one year before they bolt. I hope he shows a lot more next season and proves me wrong.
  19. So damn true. Goes for most of our recent HC’s as well. Such a mismanaged program.
  20. Thank you. I for one am tired of hearing excuses from head coaches. HF has chosen not to go to the portal for QB help, so it’s on him as far as I’m concerned. We will see if he can develop a QB at a high level school and conference.
  21. Well the roster that was left beat Southern Miss by 2, UAB by 7, Gardner Webb by 1, and Arky by 2. They lost to Wake by 1, UConn by 3, Va Tech by 1, NMSU by 35 and the bowl to Toledo by 2, which I don’t think he coached in. That doesn’t scream of a talented roster when he left. Just an opinion, but got to be some truth to it.
  22. Yes, they actually improved when he left. That’s a telling sign.
  23. I believe that too. Takes credit for the good but not the bad. I believe him to be a low character person that can really sell it to a recruit in their home. Once they get on campus and there’s another disastrous season, many will bolt. He’s not a leader.
  24. I actually think, Harsin might have been a decent coach, but he didn’t try to recruit and thought his plan alone would work. Now it seems we have a very good recruiter, that, let’s be honest, is not a very good coach at all. I have a very difficult time seeing this hire work, which with AU, seems to be par. Even Miss ST was getting rid of that AD that we hired. The football program is a laughingstock. Let’s be honest, Mizzou was picked in bottom three this year and just won 11 games. It’s truly sad.
