  1. He has played okay, but he is just jog the talent I thought he might be. Big stage on the road and he just can’t pull out a decisive win. At best I see us going 8-4. As bad as LSU may be, until we win there, why think otherwise. We won’t beat Bama, UGA and possibly Ole Miss. after three years, I feel confident in my comments. I love AU, but that’s a moot point now. As normal, I always hope I’m wrong.
  2. I believe this will tell us everything we need to know about Bo. If he is truly to ever become a top 3 or so SEC QB, then this is the game it needs to happen. I expect a really good game and if Bo’s true talent shows, then we have a good chance. PSU is going to stack for the run and make Bo and our WR’s beat them, which is possible. With that said, i am nervous about this one. It could go a very long way as a statement or keep us right where we are. I agree, I like Bobo’s play calling this far, but this is a very different scenario. If we ARE able to run on them as Wis didn’t at 57 attempts averaging 3.1 or so yards per carry, then this could be a real statement game. Just my thoughts.
  3. Makes sense. While the new team and culture appeared much more prepared and cohesive during the Akron game, I am reserving my excitement until I see how we perform on the road against what is a top 15 team in PSU. A win would go so far for the confidence of this new program, but a loss will not derail the potential of a good season. I’m just wanting to see continued consistency. Now, if we march into Happy Valley and leave there with a win that doesn’t come right down to the wire, then who knows. The losing streak at LSU, should really have no bearing on many of these potential new stars we have and I can assure you, Bryan Harsin is not paying any attention to that. Hell, he’s from Boise, believes in his own abilities and has no reason to fear a current team like LSU, based on tape I’m sure he’s watched and studied, or will from the beat down last year. Now, UGA and Bama are a different dog, but who knows. I’m taking it one game at a time.
  4. I just think Miss is going to be even better this year. Doesn’t mean we can’t or won’t beat them, but they are going to be a tough out against most teams.
  5. While I think 9 would be a great season, I just don’t know that we only lose 3 between the following games: Arky, PSU, Miss, Bama, A&M, LSU, UGA. I mean given that this is a new year w new coaches, hopefully better, the schedule is just brutal. I think if we beat a hungry PSU team up there, then that could set the stage for a 8 and 4 season, but I just don’t think we beat Bama, UGA, A&M and choose Lsu or Miss. just my thoughts.
  6. Agree. We have a true freshman to look at and a transfer from central Michigan. If we struggle this game, it’s going to be a long season. This is one of a few games to build a big lead and look at some other guys. I kind of think Harsin is a hard nosed coach like Dye was and to an extent Tubberville. Naturally the jury is still out on whether or not he will be able to recruit elite athletes. I think OM is going to be tough and rude this year. Kiffin can be an idiot at times, but I do think he’s a really good coach. Just my thoughts. WDE
  7. I agree. I think with TJ and DD having a full year in the system next year may be different. Yes, it’s Bo’s first year too, but he has so much more game experience than both of them combined. We will find out within the first few games.
  8. Agree completely. He’s had two years as a starter. New coaching regimes and offenses don’t affect good quarterbacks. I believe this is his final year as a starter if he continues to be inconsistent. Star ratings don’t always equate to play on the college level. Just my thought. I hope he turns a corner and has a top 2 or 3 year for QBs in the SEC.
  9. True. I really like his attitude and philosophy. A breath of fresh perspective is what I hope gets this program back to a constant Top 10 team. It won’t be quick or easy, but it’s doable.
  10. Here in lies the problem, with this ridiculous transfer portal. If this is not ceased after the 2021 season, then it will ultimately ruin college football. The NBA has already added to the demise of college basketball, with the G league and what not. Now don’t get me wrong, these kids deserve to make some money, but these new rules are not holding any of them accountable for decisions made. This may be one reason why so many of the nba players are bankrupt within two or three years of their retirement from the league. As for the football portal, 2020 was understandable, but now it’s just okay to commit and actually sign and then just bail after a spring or whatever. It’s ruining the game in my opinion. Then again, this is just my opinion.
  11. The fact of the matter is that Gus’ recruiting was slipping. True we have talent, but he was not focused on where games are won, which is in the trenches. I believe Harsin has a plan to address deficiencies, but it will take a couple of recruiting cycles, to put his stamp and game plan into action. This current team is talented enough to win anywhere between 6 and 9 games, but it may not be pretty this first year. I don’t expect a miracle year like Gus had in his first one and if we are being honest, the UGA and Bama game were miracle wins. Just my opinion. Harsin has to get used to recruiting in the South where it’s brutally competitive. As of now, I think he will be fine and change the culture of the team.
  12. I tend to agree. Also Ga St will be no pushover. We should beat SC this year, but until I see the O, I will still think we won’t beat LSU there. PSU is a hard game to call. Toss up. We won’t beat UGA with our team this year, but TAMU, I think we have a legit chance to beat. I believe we beat 1 Miss team and Arky. Bama at home may not matter this year. I tend to wait until fall practice is done, to opine on games, but what the hell, as long as we look well coached and are competitive, that’s a positive sign. This staff will need a couple of full years to do what they have in mind. At this point, the recruiting game is the biggest factor for our future.
  13. Good point. Maybe Gus & Co were not able to determine true talent in the secondary. Seems since Harsin has taken over, a lot of them are running scared from competition. I already appreciate this new culture being taught and expected. In a couple of years, we may be the class of the SEC, which we haven’t been since 13. New regime equals no assumed pass based on stars!
  14. I agree but Bilema was successful at Wisconsin before crashing and burning at Arky. It will be fun and interesting I hope to see if Harsin can make the transition more successful.
  15. I agree to an extent. I really just think our front 4 were not near as talented as in recent years. I mean I’m not sure we had one really good DLineman this year. It seems like forever since we had tried and true DE’s that were talented at pass rushing. That lack of player there could be a combo of recruiting, scouting and finishing as in keeping a sought after recruit from flipping. RG has been around a long time now and has been productive everywhere, but is he slipping in scouting and recruiting the best players out there? He’s always been one of our best recruiters. Hard to get a read on this D this year due to injuries and just the craziness of the year in general. As usual, I’m always more concerned about our O and obviously with good reason.
