Not sure they will hang 30 on our D, but if our O looks bad, like it has most of the year against teams w a pulse, 14-0 will be enough for UGA to make this a complete embarrassment. Our O, does not have the line to really even compete with the GA front 7. It will take the game of this teams lives just to keep it within the spread of 14. With my opinion being offered, it doesn’t mean we won’t or can’t keep it close, but there will have to be most everything go right w 0 mistakes. I truly hope I’m wrong. WDE!

True enough. We need to start fast and keep pressure on them. Our O is not good enough to play from behind against a team like GA. It seems we are faced w having to make adjustments against every team with a pulse. This has been going on for years now. Not sure why, but I damn sure wish I did.

Good points and a good post. Is Tank banged up and they are just preserving him as much as possible? Hunter can flat out read a hole and had very good power and great vision. Was really good to see Shivers back, as he’s a void ball player and had some great runs after the catch. Here is one thing that worries me about the GA game. Arky went w a 3 man D front and got steamrolled by their running game. I know JT Daniels’ status is still unclear, but if we don’t present a very different look on D, what’s to say the same thing won’t happen to us, even w their 2nd string QB running the show? My point is, we have to recruit better across both lines in order to attempt to compete with Ga and Bama, who are both obviously the best 2 teams in the nation. I’m very happy we got that win on BR that was needed though. That can set the tone of a team even though most of them weren’t born when that losing streak started. Hard to believe TT was the HC and we won a Natty and played for another w the only loss besides FSU that year was to who else but LSU in BR.

I do too. While the LSU game was a great win that I for one didn’t expect, UGA is a totally different beast. Their OL and DL could very well cause this game to spiral out of control in the first half. I still don’t think we have had a consistent offensive performance this year, barring our first 2 high school games. I would be very pleased if we were able to put points up against their D and keep it within 10. To me, that would be huge.

Yep. Poor pass rush for a lot of years now. Doubt it matters either way though. AU is good at making bad or mediocre teams look great.

Only UGA and Bama look like teams to fear. FLA may win but they are struggling w KY right now and same with Tamu and Miss St. If Arky really is or was the 8th or 10th best team in country, then damn, they were shutout by Ga and their backup QB. We can all agree to disagree on certain aspects of the game, team, season, etc. but if we manage to pull one out in BR tonight, anything may be possible and I don’t mean AU challenging for the West, but we could finish 4-4 giving us 7 wins.

That seems to be AU. Always lagging behind in everything. And lately, it’s been two of our rivals in the mix contending and one will win it all this year.

I do think Ga showed a lot of people how to beat Arky and it was behind the running game. Ob our OL line is not GA’s but there is a blueprint to maybe beat them. If we do lose tonight, I think we are looking at 2-6 in SEC at best. Then we have to worry about recruiting, which this crew seems to be celebrating 3 star players. Yes there are diamonds in the rough every once in a while, but that will NEVER beat GA, BAMa or a few more teams. I believe Harsin gets 3 years. No need to waste 8 since Malzahn lost to a winless Navy team.

Well KSU is hanging w OK. Stanford is beating Oregon. Bama is destroying OM, not an upset but not a score I expected this early. GA made Arky look really bad and did nothing but run the ball by controlling the line of scrimmage. I read where Nix will start. Maybe in this wild Saturday he balls out and we snap a pathetic streak. Just for fun, App State is destroying GaState. What a short strange trip it’s been so far. Let’s help get Ed run out of Baton Rouge. WDE!!

Agree. At this point I would be shocked if we beat anyone besides MSU and that’s def no given. Damn sure love being wrong in these cases though.

Unfortunately, I believe Nix is very broken and TJ left because he really had no shot at much game time at LSU. If we are lucky, each plays well enough in the game to keep their pass rush in check. I’m actually beginning to believe Jarquez is our fastest, strongest and best hole reader of our tailbacks. Harsin definitely deserves a full 2 recruiting cycles to see what he can do as a HC. As for the rest of the staff, that should be looked at on a position by position basis. You can’t keep all of your buddies from Boise St. and expect to recruit in the South and having some connections on the West coast and Midwest can certainly help, but all of the talent is the southeast. If we win Saturday, that would be huge for us and Harsin. We haven’t won there since TT was coach and that is now 4 coaches ago. I’m anxious to see. War Eagle regardless.

Knoblauch lost the confidence to make the throw from 1st to 2nd, but he was also good for a number of years. We’ve yet to see Nix be very good at all. Same thing happened to Sax with the Dodgers, but it was after a few years where each was decent at 2nd base. Based on stats, Bo has never really been very good since high school. Just my opinion.

Me too. I don’t know how many more opportunities he deserves at this point. He is NOT an SEC caliber QB. No consistency, pocket presence or accuracy. I don’t enjoy piling on, but he’s being paid now for his likeness, so heat comes with money. I don’t think either of our first two QBs are very good and I would be shocked if we got four SEC wins this year. I so hope I’m wrong, but we lose to LSU again, I think things will really begin to unravel.

I am in line with your thoughts. If our D continues to look so bad against teams that aren’t high school in nature, then it will be obvious that Mason was the wrong hire. We haven’t had a decent pass rusher since Holland. Their d line versus our o line will tell a lot. If we can’t run the ball successfully, we don’t win, because neither QB is very good. I’m thinking LSU 27 AU 16. The season is in trouble after this game. Until I see differently it’s hard to stay optimistic about the state of the program.

Good point. We are a six win team at best with an opportunity to maybe pull an extra W out with good play. Way way to early to blame coaching. It’s going to come down to how well this first full recruiting cycle goes in 22. If we stay in the lower half of the SEC in ranking and are outside of a top 25 overall, we will continue to lose ground to the big boys. Time will definitely tell. As of now though, we won’t beat Arky, Ga, Miss, Bama and LSU or either TAMU. I forget who our 2nd East opponent is.

Maybe so, but why is a former 5 star, (I use the star system loosely) not able to get open against a very inferior team? That’s why he left UGA. Odd move by Harsin firing the WR coach after 4 games, but his DC is getting his brains beat out by any team with a pulse. Hire from Vandy and along comes a losers mentality. Our D is really bad this year. We will be extremely blessed and lucky to finish 6-6. Nothing I’ve seen thus far says otherwise. Our top 2 QBs are not very good and it’s showing. Arm strength means nothing if there is no accuracy and neither is an accurate QB. I would love to be wrong but I don’t think I am.

No argument here. I think Harsin needs a chance to recruit the QB that he feels is right. Nix has had ample opportunities to succeed, but for some reason or another, he is not The Guy. Now the play calling leaves a lot to be desired as well as the DC. This season will unravel quickly if things aren’t shored up. We won’t beat Arky, as their D is for real. Ole Miss is out of our league. Bama and GA are light years ahead of us. Not convinced that we beat LSU in Baton Rouge until it actually happens. Miss State and TAMU are toss ups. Not very optimistic until I see better play against SEC competition. Afraid Tank leaves after this year which would be really bad. Hope I’m very wrong.

Agree with 2, 3 and six. Bo Nix needs to sit. He was and has been overrated since day 1. Enough is enough. Yes, i believe Bobo is and has been overrated as a play caller, head coach etc. Our wide receivers look way too pedrestrian. Not sure if they just can’t run routes or what. The fact that this game came down to the end, does nothing to endure we will three more games. Arky will kick our ass, but that was almost last year and OM, Bama, Ga and pick em, will lay waste to this team the way they are currently playing. Just not a good team at all. Hell the damn 3 man front ain’t working at all. No pass rush against real teams. Too much to be desired to even continue to discuss.

Agreed. He’s just not a very good QB. The good ones overcome other team deficiencies, but he just isn’t one of those. I fear we are looking at 6 and 6 if we are lucky, which is crap.

Down 12 at half looks really really bad right now. If we win 6 this year we are lucky. This is starting to feel like the last 8 years already and Harsin is not a proven recruiter in the south. The Derek Mason defense seems to be a failure against any team with a pulse, but what should we have expected about a guy coming from Vandy. Even if we manage a win, this is a stepping stone for the rest of the SEC to toy with us as a homecoming game. I just can’t fathom this team all of a sudden making a run of any sort this year. Damn, at this point Gus looks like a genius for getting fired and getting away from this crapshoot.

At this point in the game, a win will suffice. This is going to be a very long season. No way we hang with Bama, UGA, Ole Miss, Arkansas and maybe LSU. This is a pathetic display of football. It’s just so pedestrian and ridiculous of a game. Very poor performance. A let down might could have been imagined, but not against this team. Hard to stay or be positive at this point.
