  1. AU's WR don't appear to be getting any separation from bama DB's (no surprise) especially on the sitdown routes. keep working the slants
  2. re watching the game, the series around 12:00 mark in 3rd Qtr. thorne is abysmal. Freeze is visibly frustrated with his decisions. WR's open all over the middle. Checkdown Charlie has his mind made up to dump it off, though.
  3. Didn't the STATistics tell us that Auburn's offense was getting better over the last 3 games?
  4. It will be totally on point for Freeze to blame the horrible offensive 2nd half on Miss State defense or the band or take your pick.
  5. Derek Mason: "still plenty of time for anything to happen." it is to laugh.
  6. I find it hard to believe that the routes are so structured and rigid as to have the WR stop and turn short of the line to make on so many throws
  7. Overall, QB play is just "Meh". LSU/ MO may flare up but
  8. Just had to get cute. shades of the whirlybird
  9. Bless your heart.... consider that UGA may have been an outlier? Cal game? ugh. Samford? not pretty getting stuffed by their Dline several times. excuses galore.
  10. Don't forget the Safety type blitzes as well. Auburn correctly blocks them once in a blue moon. and executes one almost as often. Scheme? Personnel? I saw what I think was a LB or S blitz by AU last week and on cue, he runs into the blocker/scrum instead of finding a weak point and attacking.
  11. 2 1/2 MINUTES into the game, after the first LSU score, the camera focused on him and I swear you could see the thought bubble over his head "Wonder what's going on in Lynchburg?"
  12. Receivers getting enough separation so as to avoid a lot of 50-50 situations.
  13. amazing what you can do with even a marginally competent QB. under duress, even.
  14. with the rules changes last 6-8 yrs, the middle third is ripe for the picking. Gus failed to realize this. or was too stubborn to change. he even abandoned the sit down routes in the middle.
  15. In theory, yes, you make valid points. In real life, I think you overestimate the ability of most punters. How many times does the situation call for a high and short-ish punt, but the punter drills it through the endzone ?
  16. and it's not like kirby disguises his blitzes. you usually can see them coming a mile away. kinda like last wee......oh. right.
  17. In the early 70's I think it was on the corner where the ROTC bldg is now. Thatch and Donahue?? For my time in school it was between Haley and Parker. formed a nice backdrop for all the nut jobs preaching / screaming at the wayward coeds
