I think 8-4 is reasonable as we currently stand. 9-3 will likely be our ceiling for 2023. We’re not going to get to uga and bama’s level, and LSU is ahead of us. However, just for fun….IF we crush the portal, along with a favorable schedule, and uga and bama both replacing QBs and other very important parts…..It’s not out of the realm of possibility for CHF to have some of that first year magic like Gus and Tot had. It’s the off season. We’re allowed to dream!😁

Sanders would be good. Ive heard talk about Leonard from Duke. But he may go pro? I would be very happy with him. I also like Nuss from LSU if he decides to go. I think the uga guys are going to stay through the spring to see who will be their 23 starter. I don’t know if we’re willing to wait that long. 🤷‍♂️

It could be wishful thinking since he’s still brand new, but I don’t think CHF is going to be like the last 2 HCs, where if we swing and Miss on option A we’re just screwed. I think he’ll have multiple back up plans with recruiting. The McCall situation was unforeseen, and the very next day we had another high quality portal QB on campus! Now, we haven’t gotten one yet, but I’m sure we’ll have some more guys visit, and eventually we’ll reel one in.

Good call!!! OT described as “nasty” and a 6’6” WR!!!! Add the other UF OL Ethan White to that list and I think we’re actually good at WR and OL. Time to focus on QB and LB!

I watched their bowl game last night. He looked pretty good! If I was a Wake fan, I would whine about that stupid slow read play, where the QB and RB stand in the backfield each holding the ball until 2-3 guys tackle them in the backfield, as often as we whined about Gus’ Hurry up and lose a yard up the middle on first down play he loved so much. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Whoever Freeze, Montgomery, and Austin decide they want is good with me. There are no perfect QBs in the portal, but I believe there are some that can help us next year.

I’d take him. We just need a guy for one year. By 2024 Robby and/or Holden should be ready to go.

I wouldn’t think it’s a huge factor this year, although on field success certainly won’t hurt! We’re building from ground zero. So I don’t expect 2024 guys to be expecting a whole lot of success from us. It’s more about: 1. Relationships/Trust 2. Fit - How do I fit in here scheme, culture, etc. 3. Future - Are you going to help me get into the league and/or help me with another career path, plan B option. 4. NIL money 5. Facilities and programs to help me get better.

It has its good and it’s bad. Overall, I haven’t decided if it’s better or worse (for AU’s current situation, it’s better because we need to pull in about 40 players and we have the resources to do it) The thing is, human nature is a constant. Some people will ALWAYS find ways to screw the system, take advantage of other people, and seek selfish gain whether it’s coaches, media, boosters, players, etc. There is no perfect solution because we are imperfect people.

I think so! It was great to see JWill and Broome have 2X the shots of Greene and KD. Tre Donaldson has the potential to be our best PG. I look for more - Broome, JWill, Moore, and Tre on the floor together. I think that’s our best lineup with a not yet determined 2 (Greene, Zep, KD, or Lior, I guess whoever is hottest on that given day🤷‍♂️) Not sure what the deal was with Westry not playing til the very end, but he and Traore have proven they’re just not quite ready yet.

JMHO, that’s not an exhaustive list. There will be more portal activity. And I think CHF and staff have got to pursue a LB or 2 at some point. Our LB situation is not good! It’s absolutely bonkers to think that our OL situation may get to the point where we’re fully stocked and turning some away.
