CGC will straighten things up now I believe, say what you wiil  but Satan runs a tight ship over there in turdville and it works.

How about Miles, Richt, Petrino, Spurrier, Dooley?  There are very few coaches that run a "tight ship", they all do the best they can to keep +100 18-20 yr old hot headed, male athletes full of testosterone in line.  Coach Chizik and Nick Saban are no different than any other coach in the country, they are doing the best they can to manage their programs.  For anyone of us to point fingers at another coach or program with what our own players have been through is laughable.  (For crying out loud, we've got four former players with felony arrests on their records.)

No coach runs a "tight ship".  If a blue chip or all star player makes a mistake, you bet your sweet Updyke, any coach will do his best to spin, cover up, do whatever it takes to get that kid on the field.  How many times has Saban handled a punishment "internally"?  A few years back he had like 17 arrests on his team.  Courtney Upshaw beat up a girl in a parking lot, and now he is celebrated as a class act.  Saban played DJ Hall DURING a game he was already suspended for.  Calloway gets whisked away to the beach for a mysterious weekend trip right after he flips to AU and comes back fully committed to the Tide.  Saban went on the radio and said he saw nothing wrong with TTMW situation (weeks after the bogus, back dated disassociation letter was "hand delivered"  to "Tom's kiosk in the mall").  Rent Richardson is patted on the back for raising his 2 daughters and taking in his brother in a house in Tuscaloosa, driving high dollar SUVs and hanging out at dinners with boosters....who is footing the bill for this?  Yeah, Saban's got it under lock and key over there.  Hell, he had a player die of a drug overdose this year (I am in no way making light of this young man's death, just pointing out that young people will often make irresponsible decisions, and there's no coach that can run a ship "tight" enough to stop it).  I'm not saying AU is cleaner or better than any program, but to suggest that Saban runs a "tight ship" is silly.

Quick question, how many programs in the SEC, or nation for that matter, could go thru an investigation like AU endured recently and come out with smelling like a rose with NO violations?

All big time tahd players who were arrested, and to the best of my knowledge never received more than a half game suspension.

What do you think coach Chizik would do if he learned one of his players assaulted a female?I'll give you a hint, Eric Smith gets suspended for fighting a man.

I know a young man that is going to graduate from Auburn soon. We had lunch together the other day and he said that most of the football players were smart-alecs and had a superior attitude. He really liked Lutz. He said that he was down to earth type of guy. Sounds like they needed a dose of reality and humility. Maybe that is why things turned out like they did this year.  :dunno:

That's a pretty broad brush to paint with there...yes some guys are gonna be that way, but I doubt if that is the reason the team went 7-5...AU did not invent players with attitudes...the team is just really young and void of leadership..

He was a lot more specific, which I can't be on here. He called names and said basically the majority were arrogant when around the average student. Maybe he has problems himself. I don't know. He is a good kid that is a senior at Auburn.
