Capital One Cup Sports

I'm not sure of all the limitations that Title IX has imposed on college sports but it seems that the Auburn men got the short end of the stick.  Currently, the Auburn men participate in nine Capital One Cup sports:

Group A Sports:

Cross-Country

Indoor Track & Field

Swimming & Diving

Tennis

Golf

Group B Sports

Football

Basketball

Outdoor Track & Field

Baseball

While the women participate in eleven Capital One Cup sports (plus Equestrian which is not on the Capital One list).

Back in the 60's and 70's Auburn (with coach Umbach) had one of the best wrestling teams in the entire Southeast and had to give it up because of Title IX.  There are two Group B sports that we don't participate in:  Soccer and Lacrosse.  Why can't we take up one or two of those?

In the Capital One Cup a team can only score points if they end up in the top ten in the nation.  The reason that I emphasize Group B sports is because your points are tripled in these sports.

I'd really appreciate any information that would shed some light on this.
