AUUSN....For the record FOX cable news has higher ratings than the other networks put together and your statement that few people watch "The Five" patently false.

Where is your sense of humor? I saw the show and the two ladies and the whole gang were laughing and having a good time. The video linked is only a very few seconds of the whole show.

And FYI one of Fox's new and regular guest commentators is a retired Navy female pilot.

And I would inject.......no self respecting poster here would ever make a litle joke about boobs would they?

Not about women risking their lives flying missions over territory occupied by these Bronze Age thugs to give me the freedom to tell jokes.

Actually, the Major's mammary glands and/or parking abilities would have never even crossed my mind if these two male idiots hadn't brought it up!

I also suspect, had a "liberal" made similar comments about a female American pilot, he/she would have been verbally crucified by the two Fox commentators. And I can't say I wouldn't have agreed with them under those circumstances.

(The ratings/viewership of this program or network are completely irrelevant. I didn't hear about this from watching Fox news, but from seeing the on-line site I linked. However, I would find the comments equally disrespectful had they come from CNN, ABC, or MSNBC pundits instead.)

Not mention, we would have had the obligatory "Proof that all Liberals are Idiots and Insane" thread.

Stewart is insanely jealous of Fox news because he can't cut a candle to bill o'Reilly's ratings. I'm amazed a solid Navy guy would even link something to Stewart.

I have a aunt that is a Annapolis Grad and flew helicopters in Iraq. My understanding is she wasn't real pleased or thrilled with the comment. Fact my understanding is her comment was "well I'm glad Fox appreciates my service so they can be sexist ******* pigs". She's Republican also.

Maybe because he was revealing the truth? Since when did military people have to be dumb and gullible enough to swallow anything Fox puts out?

Stewart made a great point and it was funny as hell. An idiot Fox commentator accuses Obama for "not respecting people who put their lives on the line for us" then turns around in the same segment and talks about "boobs on the ground".

I am amazed that anyone smart enough to go through flight school can't recognize such blatant hypocrisy, much less be willing to defend it.

Actually they claim the ISIS nut jobs are afraid of being killed to by a woman in combat. The Kurds have women soliders, now this. Apparently if an ISIS guy is killed by a female it jeopardizes them getting into to heaven.

http://nypost.com/20...-female-troops/

“These ISIL soldiers apparently believed that if they were killed in battle, they went to paradise as long as they were killed by a man,” Royce explained, using another acronym for the terror group.

“And these female soldiers were communicating their satisfaction with the fact that they had taken the fight to ISIL and had stopped the advance, turned back the advance — slayed a number of these fighters, who would then run away,” he added with a chuckle.

WOW. this is awesome. We should really use this in our favor. Create fake Bio's of our "Pilots" all pics of NFL (or Oregon) cheerleaders. Specifically chosen not only to degrade and destroy ISIL but also to send them straight to HELL.

Now we're talking

A common tactic in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam (or in most wars I suppose) was to drop leaflets encouraging the foe to defect and explaining the benefits of joining our side. ....just sayin' :big:

Correct me if I am wrong. Didn't the Fox commentator apologize for the tasteless verbiage? Hasn't the president apologized as well for his ridiculous salute?

I think we can debate without attacking each other. AFN played (and still does) John Stewart and the troops in Iraq loved watching him. I don't agree with every thing he says but in this clip, he is absolutely spot on.

Can you define "solid Navy guy"? What the hell does that mean?

Hasn't the president apologized ... for his ridiculous salute?

I couldn't say. I don't recall hearing one way or another, nor am I particularly concerned about it. (Although as a former National Guardsman, he should know the proper military etiquette.)

...perhaps you should ask President Bush yourself.

Pointing out hypocrisy is not necessarily taking a position.

I think Stewart is doing just fine. O'Reilly pulls in about 3.2 million, Stewart about 2.2 million. Stewart beats him in the most coveted 18-49 age bracket though. It's not like he's hurting.

Had that actually happened you'd be right. It did not thus you are very wrong! But nice deflection or attempt thereof.

Dear Mr. Bolling and Mr. Gutfeld,

We are veterans of the United States armed forces, and we are writing to inform you that your remarks about United Arab Emirates Air Force Major Mariam Al Mansouri were unwarranted, offensive, and fundamentally opposed to what the military taught us to stand for.

First, foremost, and most obvious to everyone other than yourselves, your remarks were immensely inappropriate. Your co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle was so right to call attention to an inspiring story of a woman shattering glass ceilings in a society where doing so is immeasurably difficult. We never heard an answer to her question: why did you feel so compelled to “ruin her thing?”

As it turns out, women have been flying combat aircraft since before either of you were born. Over 1,000 Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) flew during World War II. Seeing as U.S. Army Air Forces Commander “Hap” Arnold said “Now in 1944, it is on the record that women can fly as well as men,” we can probably guess he thought their parking was adequate. The WASP legacy reaches into the present day; on 9/11, then Lt. Heather “Lucky” Penney scrambled her F-16. Completely unarmed, she was ready to lay down her own life to prevent further devastating attacks on American soil.

Thus the skill of women as fighter pilots is well established. And before you jump to the standby excuse that you were “just making a joke” or “having a laugh,” let the men amongst our number preemptively respond: You are not funny. You are not clever. And you are not excused. Perhaps the phrase “boys will be boys”—inevitably uttered wherever misogyny is present—is relevant. Men would never insult and demean a fellow servicemember; boys think saying the word ‘boobs’ is funny.

The less obvious implication of your remarks, however, is that by offending an ally and cheapening her contribution, you are actively hurting the mission. We need to send a clear message that anyone, male or female, who will stand up to ISIS and get the job done is worthy of our respect and gratitude.

We issue an apology on your behalf to Major Al Mansouri knowing that anything your producers force you to say will be contrived and insincere. Major, we’re sincerely sorry for the rudeness; clearly, these boys don’t take your service seriously, but we and the rest of the American public do.

Very Respectfully,

Geez......how much longer do we have to talk about what I think was a bad attempt at a joke....a takeoff of "boots on the ground." As pointed out, Eric Bolling has apologized. That's more than Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, Jackson, Sharpton, etc., do very often when they make dumb remarks. Why don't we talk about Sharpton's impact on the lives of three Duke lacrosse players resulting from his racist accusations for which he has NEVER apologized. Yet he owes a ton of back taxes and is an advisor to Obama. Bolling is a nice guy and no harm comes from his unfortunate comment. In fact the lady had received more publicity as a result than she ever would have.
