I'm going to the sugarbowl, with VT gear

I'll probably be setting with a very fine group of AU fans. Is it O.K for me to

cheer if VT (which is unlikly) does anything positive? Are the fans respectful

enough to accept a maroon and orange patron surrounded by AU faithful?

I promise I'll behave! I may be an idiot for not checking where my tickets were,

but I'm not suicidal! I may even wind up buying a few beers for the ones next

to me as a protectionist gesture.

Good luck with the game (nat. champs) and if we (VT) don't get completely

blown out, and I get home alive, then I'll be happy. We've already won more

games than I could have imagined and I hope you guys can take a knee in the

4th. Even though you need to win big to convince the idiots at large than you

are in the wrong bowl!

Even if I have anything to cheer about (which is unlikely), I won't, because I

respect your fans, your team, and the fact that you should be playing USC.

I also want to live a little longer!

Good luck AUnation. You deserve respect and I, and most hokies respect you

and are extremely proud to be playing the best team in america.

fwbsandman,

Not to worry -- you'll be fine surrounded by the classiest cfb fans in the nation. Heck, they'll probably be buying you beers.

Don't be poor mouthing Va Tech. They are a formidable team -- I noticed their D is ranked #1 in scoring defense in the ACC. This is going to be a great game. Wish I was going. Good luck in the Sugar Bowl. :au: WDE 12-0.

I'm originally from FWB, FL. Normally, we don't have too many Va Tech fans down there. Let me guess: you're in the AF stationed at Eglin or Hurlburt, right?

I hope you're sitting next to me.

But seriously, I pulled the same trick in Los Angeles a few years ago, and I think it might have saved me from a beat down which I probably deserved.

You probably better not wear anything having to do with another school or cheer for another school other than Auburn. If you do then you will have ziplock bags full of urine thrown at you, Auburn fans will cuss and throw things at you and your family, if you walk by yourself you might get jumped by a dozen Auburn fans, if you use a portable toliet Auburn fans will turn it over on its side with the door facing down, obsenities will be yelled at your women and the Auburn president will have to issue an apology to your school.

No wait, that's LSU. Nevermind-cheer for your team proudly

I would have also guessed air force, but the fact is I'm retired and have lived here for about ten yrs. Originally from Va. Thanks for the nice comments.

Good enough.

Just FYI, the reply button you want to hit is the one underneath the post you want to reply to.

this is the 2nd post i've seen from a hokie worried about auburn fans... i sure do hope we don't have that kind of reputation...and it makes me wonder what kind of treatment these guys/gals have gotten elsewhere!

i think you're WAY too modest about your team's chances, fwb...i'm looking for a great game that could go either way.

When we have to play in Morgantown, WV against the Mountaineers, it is literally taking your life in your own hands if you go up there. It can get violent. Traveling to UVA is simply verbal abuse. So when you're used to WVU and UVA fans, I can understand his concern :)
