AU80cruiser 1,102
How are you guys listening to it? The link doesn't work for me so I went to the first thread StatTiger started and used it to get me where I needed to be.
WarEagle84 0
Thanks, Stat. Great info, but it would be even better if you could couple it with powerpoint slides with the numbers on them. Some of us have an easier time digesting numbers visually than aurally. In regards to your stats about returning starters ... Someone has pointed out that 4 of the last 5 national championship teams (and 7 of the 10 teams competing in the championship game) have had a first year starter at QB. Obviously, QB play is important, but this seems like an anomaly. Are kids coming in more ready to play, are they surrounded by enough experience and talent to make up for their lack of experience, or is there something else to explain this trend? Lots of HS teams running variations of the spread in HS, which allows the QB's to be more prepared upon their arrival at the collegiate level. There are more "system" oriented offenses now than ever, which helps bring QB's along quicker.
ValleyTiger 2,894
Another good one Stat. Tough to here how inexperienced we are compared to the rest of the West. Guys we expect to be major contributors in the likes of Lawson, Duke, Matthews, Coleman, Kozan, Golson don't fall into the 20 games category but man that's a pretty good list of players with a year under their belts. Sure hope this is the year talent prevails for Auburn!
