Jenny AU-92 0 Posted November 7, 2003 Share Posted November 7, 2003 Thank you, BG, for pointing out that oft repeated but totally incorrect claim about GWB "stealing" the election - even the LA and NY Times - pinko rags to the core - admitted that GWB won the Florida electoral votes when they did their own recounts. Didn't admit it very loudly, but admitted it none the less. And if TigerAL tries to use the California recall as a support for undermining the process - in actuality, what BETTER example could you find of a fed-up electorate using THE LAW/LEGAL MEANS to throw the bums out? Just because Republicans started the recall drive doesn't mean that they held a gun to the head of every voter that voted to get rid of Davis. And the rest of the cartoon is just silly. The cartoonist and all who are applauding him need to go live under a Middle Eastern brutal dictatorship, they will then find out what life is really like in a religous fundamentalist society, no democracy and no civil rights. rexbo 104 Posted November 7, 2003 Share Posted November 7, 2003 Thank you, BG, for pointing out that oft repeated but totally incorrect claim about GWB "stealing" the election - If there is any issue that raises the my blood pressure to an extreme level it is the absolute false story that Bush stole the election. It was Gore that was trying to get a recount in the PREDOMINATELY DEMOCRATIC counties, not the entire state. It was Gore trying like hell to supress counting of the military ballots. Gore is the one that took the election to the courts, not Bush, the State of Florida certified the vote count in complete accordance with the law. My vote in conservative northwest Florida counts as much as the snowbird yankee vote in Miami, but yet Gore cared nothing about counting our votes, he ONLY wanted to raise the issue in south Florida. Besides, all those votes from south Florida should have been counted in New York's tally, and Gore already had those electoral votes... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
