tigerbrotha12 2,362
Well, guess all we can do is next man up. That's likely Bailey Sharp or moving someone else to tackle like Irvin or Hamm. There's also the possibility these 3 linemen coming in are just incredible (Jones, Osborne, Bell)...... maybe? I'm grasping at air here, I know... Here's our plan of success: "NO ONE GET HURT!!!!!!" He showed promise when healthy so he was worth taking the chance. What you can't do though, is whiff on the other tackle you take in the same class (Ashley in 17). And you definitely can't follow that up with a class with only one OT (Stutts in 18). And you most certainly can't, under any circumstances, follow that up with ANOTHER class with only one OT (Osborne in 19). Because then you would be faced with a really serious depth and talent problem at a critical position... Thank goodness our coaches wouldn't let that happen. SlocombTiger 106
I went to the 2014 3a state championship game between Madison Academy and Dale County. I went to support Dale County since they were in the same area as my Slocomb Redtops. I was also eager to see Sr. Kerryon Johnson and a kid I had heard very little about...Jr. Malik Miller. But once we got into the stadium the group of people from Dale County that we sat close to were all talking about a 10th grade lineman named Austin Troxell. Ever since that day I have been a huge fan of this kid. I was extremely happy when we landed him. But...I don't know if there's any validity to the idea of if a kid grows too fast there can be problems with lower extremity injuries. I've often wonder that about him since he first got hurt in HS. Thoughts? WAR EAGLE!!!

Guys, it's not a problem. Right, @Mikey? I hate it for Troxell. The next guy will step up. That's what happens when a team has adequate depth and we do have adequate depth.
