Kiffin to Nebraska?

"There’s nothing that gets college football die-hards going like tracking the trajectory of private flights from areas of interest to others. Deion Sanders’ potential flight from Jackson, Mississippi to the Plains got many Tiger fans excited about the prospect of ‘Prime Time’ becoming the next Auburn football head coach.

Now, another top candidate for the Auburn football head coaching role — that being Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin — is having his flight information tracked, though this time, it wasn’t to East Central Alabama.

Instead, the Lincoln, Nebraska native allegedly flew from Oxford, Mississippi to his hometown on October 16. Of course, the Nebraska Cornhuskers head coaching role has been vacant since Scott Frost was dismissed following a Week 2 loss to Georgia Southern at home."

He was born there, but did not grow up there or anything.  His dad was coaching there at the time.

What's silly about it? He has extracted most of the juice that can be squeezed from ole miss. The sec west is not a fun league to coach in.

Yeah, and Nebraska is super fun. Lots of hot ladies there for him too.

/sarcasm.

Also, guys aren't taking easily trackable planes to "interview for jobs" anymore LMAO. This is archaic logic, the fact that people still think you're going to find out where a coach is going based off flight data is really cute.

True, the SEC west is a gauntlet, but Saban won’t coach forever and has lost a tiny bit of luster recently and Fisher is just way overrated as a coach. He’s been bringing in top 5 classes since he got to TAMU, has tons of money behind him, but can’t seem to even win the west. Kiffin at AU could maybe make a run. Just thinking out loud.

Why would he go to Nebraska? Football worse than Ole Miss. He's got a program doing well with ZERO pressure from his PTB. But he might use the interest of the huskers to jump his salary.

But his current situation also explains why he would not be interested in the Auburn vacancy after Harsin is dumped. He is presently in his best place and he knows it.

Doubt that there's anything to Kiffin and Nebraska but to me that wouldn't be a big deal...

...unless Ole Miss hired Deion.

Kiffin and his agent maybe playing the old bump up my salary game.  Kiffin makes $7,250,000 a year before bonuses.  A visit to Nebraska and talk about him at Auburn can’t hurt his salary negotiations.

Good for him. We don't want him at the price he could cost. His OM buyout and our Harsin buyout.........no thank you.  Better off with Deion anyway.

After seeing the cost to buy him and his staff out, I think you may be right. Hopefully it can drain OM’s budget for a while.

At this point, I am just hoping we can decide on an AD before the next game.  I would prefer Nunez but Hartwell would be fine also.  Not excited about any of the others mentioned.  If we go into our next game with a new AD, we can focus the rest of the season on interviewing coaching candidates.  I am still hoping from Deion.  Would be best given our terrible situation, as a program right now.
