Yet you haven't let Coach Freeze coach a game yet?

Those people that hate Hugh Freeze and Auburn's hiring of Hugh Freeze, will never be satisfied with anything he achieves here. He improved this recruiting class tremendously; well it wasn't a top 10 class. If he wins 9 games in 2023, well it's not 10. If he beats Alabama, well it's not an SEC Title. If he wins the SEC, well it's not a National Title. You get the picture.

Tbh, most people that didn't like Freeze's character did say that they would give him a chance and see if he truly has changed. Those people really seem pleased with everything they've seen thus far since he was hired. It's the pitchfork crowd that seem to want Freeze to fail so they can say they were right all along. Most of it comes down to their ego and they would rather see Freeze fail, which means Auburn would fail, but it would stroke their ego because they were right.

As far as I can tell, the posters here that want Freeze to fail can be counted on the fingers of one hand and you'd still have some fingers left over. Maybe I'm missing seeing some but I simply haven't seen many posters who hope Freeze is a failure.

Freeze was clearly the best choice for Auburn and we'll all have to hope he's a huge success.

It is not absolute.  The Supreme Court did not address the recruiting side NIL.  In fact, the Supreme Court stated that it did not address the recruiting aspect.  And the NCAA made specific rules in which addressed NIL.  One was it made the NIL collective a booster of the school and that schools could not mention the NIL to recruits and he is already out there antongizing the NCAA.

I mean.....this is really really stupid. Like next level. I'm all for calling out Freeze for his past horrendous lapses in judgment and I do worry he'll do it again, but him promoting NIL isn't even in the same league.

Our NIL collective is literally the backdrop for all of our PCs now next to AUs logo

I agree. I think some people that protest to such an extreme are, in psychological terms,  projecting.

I said most that didn't like the hire were willing to give him a chance and most of those fans seem pleased with what he's done so far. There's Auburn fans who want him to fail and simply can't stand the man. This board isn't the only Auburn message board available though. I visit a few Auburn message boards daily as well as watching different Auburn sports podcasts. When reading posts, whether comments on an Auburn podcast or Auburn Reddit, The Rant, etc., there are the negative AU fans out there. I agree though, not many here.

There are other Auburn sites? Who knew? :)

Day 4 and still no answer.

Cohen can talk all he wants, but the fact that three months has gone by and there neither a paper trail or even a contract that's been made public tells me that there is a reason they don't want people knowing what they know.

Line I've said countless times. If the "facts" are on your side then lay it all out. The secrecy and vagueness of his answers only further alienates the fanbase and donors... But then again, who needs fans when you just have to appease the two richest Alabamians?

Well Mikey, since you're so knowledgeable, why don't you explain to me what our leadership won't?

I mean, he's not going to answer you.  He has no idea who you are via email.  I hope Freeze keeps his nose clean, but it's not something he's been able to do over his last 3 stops & consistently shows just terrible decision making.

At this point we just have to hope he's actually learned or that he wins enough games to make it worth our while.  That's what I've relegated myself to

What question do you want answered? What more do you want explained? Cohen gave a detailed description of the hiring process. People who don't like the hire are making fools out of themselves by asking foolish questions. The public has already been told everything that is normally public knowledge. It's time for the buttercups to suck it up because nothing more on the subject is coming. There's nothing more to tell.

What is foolish about asking an administrator how he plans to ensure that a guy who has brought controversy to at least three schools in his career from repeat offending? What is foolish about demanding transparency about what was discovered? Don't tell me that vague string of generalities was a "detailed description of the hiring process".

John Cohen says Hugh was "open and honest" and "so transparent". Transparent about what? He compares Hugh's mistakes to Bruce's mistakes. I think we all know that lying about a BBQ is not the same as  sketchy highschool disciplinary actions and hiring escorts with company resources. But I digress...

Cohen says he wishes he could recreate the process for others, but he can't. Except he can. You take all of your notes and documentation and make it public. Problem solved.

Hugh Freeze is a high-profile representative of a state institution. If he were appointed to be Kay Ivey's secretary I would expect the same amount of scrutiny to applied. It's no different. I understand you're content to support anything with an Auburn logo slapped on it, but some of us actually believe the Creed has meaning.

I there truly nothing left to tell, it wouldn't have even been a topic in this interview three months later. So don't call me a fool, for still asking questions when the administration is at least still pretending to care about outward perceptions.

It's a foolish question.  There are no guarantees about the future. Nobody can ensure the future. As with every hire at every level, there is some risk.

This is ridiculous. Nobody, down to the person who hires checkout people at stores does this, and for good reason. I've hired a lot of people in my day. Records such as you describe are kept under lock and key. They are not public and never will be.

The questions you are asking are foolish. No further information is due to the public and none is forthcoming. It has nothing to do with The Creed, one way or the other. I'd suggest that people who feel as you do should either let it go and stay with the Tigers or else wander off to other interests.

The ones demanding all these answers won't stop until they get the "answer" they want. It's ridiculous

Great job! This series of unhinged and irrational posts has done nothing but galvanize more support for Cohen and Freeze. Congrats!
