this season has really been a bummer in the public

I cant believe that the KY game want be on tv, but the bama/miss state game will be on cbs. This schedule was absolutley horrible, if we cant show our team off to the public how do we expect to get great recruits.

We have not had one game on CBS this year.

I guess the uga/au game will be on espn while teh lsu/bama game will be on cbs. I am so use to seeing the uga/au game on cbs. I guess I am pissed becasue I want the game to be a day game, because I got something to do that night.

I just hope and pray taht CBS choose this huge rivalry game over teh lsu/bama game.

I do not like the franklin- Davie combiantion they have on espn

Bama/Miss State has a storyline....... Croom. AU/Kentucky will be over in the first half with no storyline.

Don't think storyline matter? Check out Fowlers interview at All Things Longhorn blog at around the 18 minute mark. He goes into broadcasting agenda's and hyping for games.

I saw this earlier, but got bored with it, a AU guy pointed out the 18 minute mark which I didn't make to the first time through.

I really don't think that we'll be hurt too much with recruiting because of this. I'm sure Coach Tubs and the gang have picked out who they want to try to recruit and they'll find a way to get them interested if they can. Also with the recent BCS comments I'm sure more people will notice us again....who knows maybe recruits will be like, man I'd love to play for a standup guy like that and a program that can compete on a national level, but needs to get that extra push (although the extra "push" really probably comes from the media, as we ran the table last year and still didn't get a shot.....).... Basically I am upset we dont' get the TV coverage, but I remember when I was growing up I had to listen to the undefeated season in 1993 on the radio...that was a pain, but if I listened to an entire season on the radio (and we went undefeated) then I can stand a few games not being on tv, as much as I hate it, but I will always make time for Auburn football (within reason of course). Anyways, I don't think we'll be hurt too much by the lack of exposure, but I could be wrong... I guess I'm just trying to look at the bright side of things......

A friend of mine that works at UF said they picked up UF-USC for the ESPN game the day of the UGA game. So unless CBS picks up both games for a double header and assuming what he says is correct, either UA/LSU or UGA/AU will be on JP

I'm willing to bet 2:30 and 8pm. (Or a ~6 game they do sometimes too.)

I watched the interview with Mike Fowler. He says they (ESPN) want a title game they can hype. In this case, SC vs Texas would be great because they've been #1 & #2 all year long and both have star QBs as Heisman candidates and all .... yada yada.

My question is, if it's the title game why do you even have to hype it at all? The average college football fan will be watching regardless. No one needs to hype the NC title game because it will sell itself, especially if the two teams have earned their way there rather than been annointed.

CBS can pick up two games from the SEC. THey've already done it once this year if I remember right. I think it was UA/UF and someone else.

Back to the original thread topic. It could have been a much worse season "in the media". We could have players getting arrested for DUI, etc....

I am reminded, yet again, that it is GREAT to be an Auburn Tiger! :au:
