That equates to 455 less yards. Auburn is currently averaging 351.4 yards per game but would be at about 402 yards per game with the same number of possessions as the 2005 offense. For this reason, it's important to focus on quality rather than quantity. AU's biggest problems on offense appears to be the lack of "big play" ability and redzone offense. Personnel probably has more to due with AU's lack of big plays, especially in the passing game. I don't see much of a change in this area but the redzone can improve. The above numbers would indicate if AU can improve in this one area alone, Auburn will be very effective on offense. The defense cannot seem to get off the field but the increase in forced-turnovers will benefit the offense. Borges has done very well working on a short field. The 2006 offense is not a quick strike or explosive offense. They are capable of being very efficient.
AUloggerhead 2,252
Good work as always, Stat. One question: Inside the opponent's 50? There's only one 50 and it belongs to neither side. It's either the AU side or the opponent's side of the field. I'm assuming you mean the opponent's side of the field?
Earthcat 4
Those are eye opening stats. I think the TD% inside the redzone stands out though.
