Rocky the Movie

Recommended Posts

Great movie and all, but why is it that the 15th round lasts only (maybe less than)1 minute? I mean Rocky coulda won! I know its just a movie and all, but still kinda gets to me. I mean I know its tough to be exact with 3 minutes and all, but the other 3 Rocky's did well by doing pretty close (if not exactly) 3 minutes when showing an entire round.

I would not worry to much about that PC. That sort of thing happens in movies sometimes. BTW, it was not real, it was just a movie. :D I'm just messing with ya. ;)

Must be a very slow sports day.

Just in channel surfing -- man, it seems like Rocky & all the sequels are on all the time.

Oh & btw, I never did "get" the Rocky movies. I never understood how getting knocked around the ring silly for 14 straight rounds and then to "come alive" in the 15th and tie was somehow supposed to be inspirational. I remember walking out of that theatre thinking: "What a bunch of crap! It would have been more believable (& inspirational) if he had died of a brain hemmorage right there in the ring after the fight."

That was the only Rocky movie I paid to see. Come to think of it -- I should have asked for my money back.

Yeah, the thing about the Rocky movies is that fact they get their brains beat out. Sometimes when I am watching a movie and something unrealistic happens, I have to remind myself that is a movie and is not supposed to be like reality. I look at it this way, we see reality everyday on the news and in papers, so when I watch a movie, it really does not bother me when the stretch things like that. If I want reality, I will turn on one of the news networks. My advice is don't get bent out of shape if a ficticious movie does not match reality, because it is not supposed to. If they were like real life, then nobody would go see them. The only time you will see me get bent out of shape is if it is supposed to based on real events or if it is a military movie (unless it is a comedy like Sgt. Bilko or Stripes). I am real big about military movies getting SOP right down from the uniforms to the weapons. Thus the reason I could not stand to watch all of "Basic", which was supposed to have been about a group of Army Rangers. That movie sucked. Heck, they could not even get the ranks and uniforms correct. Samuel Jackson's character was supposed to be of Sgt. rank, but he had Specialist rank on his shoulders at times. He also wore the black dress sweater with BDU pants. Finally, this was supposed to be a current "Ranger" unit, but they were wearing the old black berets with the current generic blue army insignia that all non-Airborne/Ranger/SF now wear, instead of the tan berets Rangers have been wearing for over four years now. I was able to get by the fact that they had a female Ranger, because it was fiction, but for crying out loud, at least make the uniforms look almost SOP and not like the local JROTC program. Getting off my soapbox now.
