Shocking that they averaged more yards per play on 1st down than we did. Other than that, good looking report card.

They did have a 75 yard bomb.

That is true, still surprising to see the team on the losing end of 59-13 game lead that category.

To have THAT D performance pass on 11 of 15 criteria indicates a flawed measuring stick. IMHO.

or is it just flawed perception

Coaches love saying the greatest improvement of the season is between weeks 1 and 2. If so, uh oh. Our starters and guys competing for starting positions D played most of the game and that D gave up 20 (TWENTY) first downs to SJS. That's not giving up freak bombs now and then, those are relatively sustained drives. 319 total yards?! And no, those weren't from when guys you never heard of went in on D for the 4th quarter. This is not a hungry or well coached Auburn D playing with the precision it needs to be at right now. A few starters have rocked but it's not unfair to point out this D has now played against 2 teams hoping for .500 seasons. Defenders of CEJ are usually left taking positions like "we didn't suck as badly last year as the year before", "wait til Lawson returns", "our (torched) secondary returned an int for a TD",etc.

They've scored as many TDs in the last 6 quarters as they've surrendered. Did Ellis Johnson shoot your dog in the living room right in front of you or something?
