And now 11, false start coming out of a time out taken to avoid getting flagged for illegal substitution. 

Illinois has 50 penalty yards and only 15 earned yards.

12. Illinois throws a pick, and then the first play by USF results in a false start. 

I feel like the bands are going to come out at halftime and play the Benny Hill theme.

I forget to add: 2 interceptions and a blocked PAT returned for a touchdown - which had offsetting penalties during the play.

How in the world can you stand to watch that?  Then again that would probably make me feel better about what I watched last Saturday night.

Well, this must have set a precedent somewhere, because this game finished with 31 penalties and I think we had pretty close to that in  my game last night.  Great game [Trailing team scored with 1:01 on the clock to take the lead 21-17) but lots of penalties.
