I only see 2 depatures from their class in Jalon Jones & Chris Steele. Who else is there? They had a ot of transfers but most are would be SRs.

And better than Tubs classes. Seems  like each year 5 or 6 out of his later recruiting classes did not make their grades

We need to remember that through most of Tubb's years there were no limits to signees, only the 25 limit on enrolees. Thus, a school could sign 35 or 40 or more and if 10 or 15 didn't qualify, it was "no harm, no foul". Many good prospects that had academic issues were "sign to place" guys, meaning the school they signed with would help them get into a junior college with the hope that if the grades there were good enough, he'd come back and sign again with his original school. For example, Brandon Jacobs comes immediately to mind. He was a sign to place prospect that later came to AU after his JUCO career.

The deal has since changed and today signing a guy that doesn't qualify is very damaging.
