Baseball vs Kentucky

Recommended Posts

Apparent extended weather delay. Postponed until tomorrow at 1:00 CST. Double header with game two 40 minutes after game 1. Oh well, already had a few beers on ice stolen from Marriot Grand National.

Storms are isolated but have been nasty little boogers, including hail and rotation.  Best that they postponed.  Tomorrow is clear so both games tomorrow will be good and only 40%chance on Saturday.  Higher chances on Sunday so need to get it in before that.

Reports of up to 3"of hail in Lexington yesterday (baseball size ironic enough)

I’m an AU alum and current UK doctoral student.  I’m so excited I finally get to watch an AU baseball game in person after years and years of not living in Auburn!

Moore grounds out.

DiChiara walks! Rambusch walks! Peirce singles to load the bases.

Carlson and Howell both strike out. Disappointing to not get any runs there.

Barnett gets a lead off k. Walks the next batter. Fielder's choice to the next. And then gives up a double. Run scores.

And he walks the batter after. Another game that's looking like we'll have to go 6-8 innings in our bullpen. :(

1-0 Kentucky runner on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.

Carlson walks on 4 pitches. Howell bunts him over.

Land walks on 4 pitches. New pitcher for Kentucky.

Wild pitch moves both runners up but LaRue strikes out looking and Farquhar lines out. More runners left in scoring position. :(

2-0 Kentucky B4th

Lead off double for Kentucky. Ground out but runner moves to 3rd.

RBI single and Barnett's day is done. John Armstrong coming in and we need some strong innings out of our bullpen again.

3-0 Kentucky

Not sure I agree with taking Armstrong out after only 3 batters faced but whatever. Sheehan coming in for him.

1-2-3 inning for Sheehan.
