He was in Auburn last night. Im sure Saban is livid at the time Williams has spent here but he's the rare player that truly has all the leverage. He can pretty do as he pleases with no fear of being cut loose.

And most of those receivers have left or are headed out the door. A top transfer QB would make what looks to be a much improved group that much better.

Its the glaring weakness in an otherwise stellar class.

If Freeze was that sold on Thorne he wouldnt have tried to have Leonard lined up, it would seem to me. Ive felt all along that the WRs coming in would force an upgrade at QB but maybe not.

Thorne was ranked 11th out of 15 SEC QBs. The majority of the beat guys were all saying 2 weeks before the season ended that AU would be looking to upgrade the QB position with a transfer. The ON3 guys said any chance of landing Ryan Williams was dependent on who was brought into play QB. Now most of these same guys are on the “we have to upgrade everywhere else” and Thorne will be good. Maybe if we had a better QB these other positions would look good too?

I cant accept that reality. Im holding out hope we land somebody. Or that Freeze is sandbagging and Hank Brown is our secret weapon.

Thorne had 1671 passing yards in 2023. So by your calculations our receivers dropped 1329 yds worth of passes(and only 50% of what you say were catchable). I assume youve got numbers that show how many open receivers never had the ball thrown their way as well? I can see saying the receivers were bad but the QB was bad too.

Jarvarous had 19 catches for 347 yds on the season. Hunter has no draft stock to speak of and Thornes lucky he got anything before he iplayed in actual games here. If anybody gets increases it should be Marcus Harris, Keionte Scott and Jaylin Simpson to try and entice them to stay. Prob not happening but you give it a shot.

Cole Cubelic said in a recent interview that he knew of one transfer QB that freeze was looking at but it may or may not happen. I think Coles pretty tuned into Auburn these days, so Im hoping this pans out.

Freeze has given us a chance with Williams after he was ignored for a year and a half under potato-head. Long shot or not you pour everything you have into landing this guy. Hes a program changer. After watching Craver last night, this has to go down as an all time WR class in this state.

Ive been down on thorntons HS recruiting but this will be a huge get if it happens.

The intrigue for me is it seems clear than Bolden is recruiting McCray, but is it for AU or FSU? I got facepalmed on here for asking about Matt Luke, but I think he would clearly be a step up in regards to recruiting O Line. Edwin shouldve been closed weeks ago.

The Thompson QB is only a 9th grader and already being recruited by basically everyone, including Au and Bama.
