That sounds familiar...

We'll see what this coaching staff is made of this weekend. I've already been impressed but if we can pull in some of these big-fish I will be ecstatic!

The previous coach may have set the bar low but the fan's expectations are always through the roof.

What do we know about this guy? Anyone have the cliff-notes?

There are over 1000 now! It's just insane how many kids are available...we should be fine in getting some of them in to provide depth.

He's a great receiver, we could really use him.

I'm interested in this as well, I know he was favored by many here and the media before last season to start. We need everyone on board in the QB room when CHF starts working with them. Someone has to step-up and be #1.

In fact, he addressed this question directly in the press-conference and even laughed at the idea that it was true. People really need to stop taking every click-baiting article they read as gospel.

Amazing news and such a classy announcement by Caddie! His passion for Auburn and love for coaching these guys was noticed by everyone, nation-wide, and I'm sure it opened some eyes. He will continue to do well in life and in his career and I'm glad he has chosen to do that here.

Man, I hope so. I used to watch and refresh all day and it was fun. Harsin took that from me so I'm hoping HF can restore some of that excitement again.

This will pass…the hire is still very fresh. There will be those that will complain about the hire for his entire span here and will never be happy with it just as was done with Chizik, Gus, and Harsin.

At this point, no one has any insight into exactly what Cohen is doing and his process (except for maybe 3 or 4 people in the AD). The guy has been on campus a few weeks. And yes, he knew hiring a HC was priority #1 before taking the job. But damn...can we at least give the guy a chance? Everyone has already made assumptions about his ability to vet, review and hire coaches before he has even yet to do so. He knows when the portal opens. He knows when early signing day is. He may come out with an absolute homerun or he may fall flat on his face. Can we at least wait and see first?

This should be the top post…this and anything about the team’s toughness, how AUsome Caddie is and Ashford’s resilience.

Gotta fly out in the morning to sign that contract on the Plains.

There is no perfect solution here, no perfect hire. There never is, you can never predict how things will ultimately go. The new coach may flounder or flourish - time will tell!

I think Ryan Walters from Illinois or Brad White from Kentucky would be good hires.

What if... Lane joined his new team on the sidelines for the game? He loves trolling Saban. Admittedly, I don't want to take away from Caddie and him having his moment coaching in the Iron Bowl but I think Lane on our sideline could distract the turds as well.

I think we can keep it close for the 1st half, I'm just not sure we have the depth to last all the way to the end. I do hope I'm wrong and turnovers can change everything... I'm sure we'll see some trick plays and see us take some chances, Caddie-Style. I hope so anyway, just go all out and play as hard as we can. Turdsville has to be down after missing out on ATL, they won't all be locked in and ready to play.

No need to bring Jimbo or the Aggies into this conversation...

Nothing is impossible now-a-days, but to ask for a solid OL from transfers immediately is quite a stretch. You want to get back fast? Make a splashy hire and get the kids interested in coming to AU again. I like the heart these coaches have shown but the only way to move on from this Harsin disaster is to bring a new group in. And, I do think we should retain some of the staff (Caddie especially) and not scrap them all.

Our last go at stealing coaches from USCe didn't go too well. I'm a hard pass on a middle-of-the-pack coach. Finishing 4th every year in the West is all we would get from that hire...

That's a big GIVE there...just need 6 solid Offensive players then solid backups, right? Easy! These coaches have been on the team for 2 years now and have been recruiting with below-average results. I like the effort they have put in but it is (too little too late) with regard to recruiting and depth.
