Don't disagree with what you are saying but Kiffen has a say as to where he will coach also and I am saying Bama may have burned that bridge when they fired him in 2014.

Maybe they would be interested but after they dumped him in 2014 right before the BCS game I don't think the interest would be reciprocated.

I don't think he is overachieving. Holtz and Spurrier in the beginning were doing well there. Beamer is a good coach but I do not think is a cha.mpionship coach.

Probably not he is in his 80s. From what I hear he was the architect of the Tampa 2 defense.

Prime definitely but Grimes has experience at the SEC and power 5 level. He was OL coach at Auburn and is currently OC at Baylor. Now that I said that about Grimes and consider him to have sufficient experience for the job I think there other canadiates that would do a better job than Grimes.

I am referring to canadiates in past hires. We should have enough common sense not to even consider high school coaches and coaches that don't have sufficient experience at Power 5 school preferably the SEC.

After the hire of gus and harsin I don't trust anyone up there to do the right thing. It just takes a little common sense to eliminate the unqualified applicants and then start a comprehensive search but so far the people in the athletic have shown they can't even display the common sense to eliminate the unqualified ones.

He is not close to being my #1 choice either but of the ones that are getting the most mention are high school Deion and I have had a belly full of high school coaches at Auburn to last me a lifetime, and Freeze. Well he has the same moral problems as Kiffen and more. His running game is similar to Mike Leach and very anemic. At least Kiffen offense shows a prowess for both the running game and the passing game.

Yes, but after he beat bammer twice he had the inside track to the west and failed to close the deal. We fired Gus but after big game wins he sort of closed the door but not all the way. In 2013, gus beat Bama and won the west and SEC but failed to win BCS and in 2017 after beating Bama to win the West he lost in the SEC cha.pionship. what I am saying for those people that want Freeze, we fired Gus who had more success than Freeze.

I don't care if you are down to a 5th QB, 9th and 10th receivers there is no excuse for running streak routes evenly spaced receivers the entire night. There is not any excuses for not trying to get your running backs outside the box by running screen passes I don't care how many backs a team is down to except for sorry coaching. I am not saying A&M would have won that if they had did all of that but the type of offense A&M ran should not be used to assess the effectiveness of our DC. But if you want to say you believe you are right and they didn't have the components to run more than a high school offense, last night should not be used to assess the effectiveness of Schmedd ability to coach in the SEC.

Just because they say pro style doesn't mean it's a pro offense. Jordan Roger's kept talking about the simplicity of the route trees and how other teams have advanced their offenses but A&M did not. So while the term high school offense was not specifically used these were some of the problems noted by people when describing gus offense they did use the term high school offense. Anyone can line up in a pro style offense but if the game plan and play calling is high school then it is a high school offense.

I haven't seen anything impressive about Schmedding performance against MSU. During the beginning the D was lousy during the middle of the game theDplayed well but that may be more of their offense losing focus after going up big and then when we got the lead our D couldn't hold the lead and with A&M game jordan Roger's stated the A&M offense was not very imaginative and elementary. Very high school type of offense right up FCS Schmedd area of expertise.

I think the SEC put a Freeze on that because Saben was set to hire him as an analyst after his show cause was up but Sankey put a stop to that.

Yes he imploded at USC but he is not imploding at Ole Miss.

You say he is a little bit of a gamble but I applaud you. Unlike those that are pulling for the high school coach Deion and don't think it's a gamble at all. By the way I like his resume also but do not like his OC at all.

Because he seems to fit the profile of what Auburn seems to think is superior coaching. Schmeddingis a great coach because he is an FCS coach.

Imagine that, Schmedd which is by far the worst of that bunch gets to stay.

He is not going through his progressions very well. He bails out before he needs too and in the 2 minute drills he stays too long. In this type of offense a Qb is going to beat you with his arm and not his legs. He is more suited to a double option type of offense where he can be more of a running back.

Don't blame them much on Harsin because after Gus, I also did not believe Auburn would do something so unbelievable as hire a coach from a conference other than a a power 5 conference.

I don't know whether it's Ashford or the system but we don't seem to have hot reads on blitzes.

No both are bad coaches but our bad is only costing us 5 million.

He has two the DC and the TE coach that have impressive resume. Thurman the DC. His last year in the NFL was 2016 and was out of football for 3 years before he took a job with an arena football league or such in 2019. He has been at Jackson State since. Out of the NFL for 6 years. Deion didn't attract him he had no other place to go. The TE coach has a strong resume on paper but he was fired at Florida so that doesn't sound like Deion attracted him but parking till something comes along that is better. Furthermore., with all that experience no coach has saw fit to give him an OC assignment. Even Deion gave the OC to a young coach and not to him. Talking about red flags galore.

Give me specifics that he he can come into the SEC and do all of this. This just a bunch of generic crap you people throw out. Attract critical national interest. You guys pretty much made that same assessment of Harsin. At least there was some specificity to the logic no matter how weak it was for hiring Harsin.
