  1. Some guys are late bloomers. Him being unable to get any playing time as a redshirt FROSH isn't a big deal. Can't write him off just yet.
  2. Hell no. Throne isn't a starter by any stretch of the imagination. Even McCall for one year could potentially net us an extra 2-3 wins. That definitely would've been the case this year.
  3. Eh. He still misses easy throws and is consistently inaccurate. I applaud his heart, but he's not that guy.
  4. Any way you slice it, Freeze not knowing who was out there to field a punt is unacceptable. And he signed off on that last defensive play. For the love of God, stop absolving him of any blame.
  5. Sooo, we have the talent to hang with the #1 team in the country and the #8 team (that's really top 5 imo), but we don't have the talent to make 2-3 additional plays...? This is a large issue with the fan base. A lot of people act like Auburn is fielding Florida Atlantic level of talent on the field, when we're quite obviously top 20 in that regard to even be able to hang with multiple heavy hitters.
  6. Once again, that's on the coaches for going against what was working and getting cute by trotting out a QB whose only purpose is running the ball 95% of the time. Common sense tells you to just let it rock until Thorne starts screwing up.
  7. This season was supposed to be an easy 8 win one. The SEC is VERY wide open to the point that MIZZOU looks like the 2nd - 3rd best team in the conference. The fact that we probably can't squeeze in even 7 wins would be sad...and the SEC is going to be MUCH better next year when Bama and UGA get a 5-star QB apiece and return a good share of their players. The defense is going to have to play better than they already are, and the offense is going to have to be 3-4x better just to get us to 7 wins.
  8. In my opinion, the "talent deficit" excuse isn't valid when we lose by only 7 to Ole Miss, a score against Georgia, and a couple scores vs. A&M. Those are three of the better teams in the conference, and Auburn stayed close to them, albeit at home. A better offensive game plan and better offensive players at Wide Receiver and QB likely turns at least 2 of those losses into wins. The team this year is MUCH more talented than last season. It's just that the coaching staff is high-key worse, and the QBs are worse.
  9. I think we can drop Arkansas and the cupcake before the Bama game. Vandy looks like a toss-up at this point. 6 is our cap.
  10. Would be nice if we could sport a new uniform...
  11. You can't heap most of the blame on the O-line when the starting quarterback routinely misses easy/open throws.
  12. Think this is gonna be a 31-17 game in Ole Miss' favor.
  13. The logical thing to do is start Ashford and run a ground n' pound offense that utilizes short, quick passes with heavy play action gratuitously sprinkled in. I say that because Thorne is hella inaccurate for a Junior QB with loads of experience, and the receivers are cheeks, so trying to run a pass happy, pseudo-air raid with the weapons and O-line that we have now is asinine. Freeze definitely shouldn't get a pass for this offense that's being fielded right now. The defense getting sauced all game suprised me, but then again, LSU has one of the best offenses in CFB, so... The defense playing out of their minds while at home against a UGA offense that has good but not great talent everywhere but Tight End made A LOOOOTTT of people rate the defense higher than they actually are.
  14. Where are all the people that were praising that moral victory against Georgia two weeks ago🤣? Just to turn around and get schooled by LSU in one of their down years.
  15. Helluva showing today. I think if we can sustain this anywhere close to this level of play, We'll probably finish with 8 wins this year.
  16. Let's not let the defense playing out of their minds today cloud our minds. We need ALOT more dudes.
  17. Not a chance in hell. There's one five-star in the class of '25, and it's looking like he'll choose Bama or Colorado. We have a shot of getting one of the other top five 4-star QBs, though. I don't think Walker White is gonna be that guy just based off of his completion percentage in comparison with the other kats in his class. I'd expect someone like him to be the headliner at vandy or Miss. State or something, so whoever comes in 2025 will be the future of the program.
  18. The fact that there are so many posters on here that are just about praying that the #9 quarterback in the country that threw 26TDs to 10 Picks on a mid completion percentage (54%) against just decent competition can turn around and "save" the program is hilarious.
  19. I'm just hoping that UGA doesn't drop 40 on us.
  20. I'm having trouble understanding how affording a dude that has missed several wide open receivers the liberty to take more chances makes any kind of sense. I understand that you guys are looking at him through optimist-green-tinted glasses, but at a certain point, you have to settle into reality. A guy that can sling it accurately isn't going to consistently brick easy throws. If you let him gun-sling, he's going to start putting his defense in more precarious positions, which is going to force them to stay on the field longer and...you know the rest. If you wanna go the route of letting an inaccurate quarterback spin it, then you might as well start Ashford because he can at least make plays on the ground.
  21. The absolutely astonishing thing about all of this is that this is quite literally a down year for the SEC. There are no star quarterbacks, maybe one star running back, no downright dominant...or really any "This is the easily best team in the conference" program, and we might very well be looking at another 5-7 / 6-6 finish...and the conference is going to take a quantum leap in regards to talent next season when UO & UT join. The scary thing is that Auburn could make leaps and bounds of improvement in regards to depth, QB play and coaching AND STILL finish with a middling record. What's worse is that Bama is also the worst it's been offensively and they STILL would likely beat us by a touchdown or two.
  22. He'd definitely do better. You'd have a similar transfer class with a better recruiting class, AND a great QB in Shadeur. The defense might be a notch below what it currently is, but the offense would look like the greatest show on turf in comparison.
  23. With all due respect, they faced a team that is one of the 5 best in the country without their best player @Autzen stadium.
  24. Personally, I don't really agree with everyone's opinions on Bama's QB situation in here. I think Milroe is definitely their best option, but the real issue is that O-line. They've had trash quarterbacks in the past that still got the job done (Coker, Sims, Freshman year Jalen Hurts), but the one constant was that their lines were stout, and they had plenty of time to throw to their elite receivers... whom were all over the field. They're missing 2-out of-3 of those this season. I'm expecting an 8-4 season from them (It's about damn time), but wouldn't be surprised if they rebound next year. Other hot takes: Florida will win the SEC. The Pac-12 will have two teams in the playoff. Auburn is looking at a 6-win season.
