  1. What a difference 1 year makes. Last year he was the toast of Fayettville.
  2. It stinks even more when Ga & Bama show recruits the total bonus $$$ their players got after being drafted. Multi, multi millions of $$.
  3. That plus Saban. He just may be the very best recruiter ever in college football. Not the best coach but best recruiter. That's what he told Mal Moore when hired. "You didn't just hire the best coach, you hired the best recruiter".
  4. So was Doug Barfield before his Auburn tenure.
  5. A boatload of bodies (WR mainly) that are subpar doesn't do us much good. We've got to get some way above average to turn this ship around.
  6. A little bit of James Brown from back in the day! Is Golf the one who puts on the cape for you?
  7. As many as Hugh wants. He (unlike our other previous AU coaches) knows what he is doing.
  8. Haven't noticed ankles...BUT every time CBS TV pans the bama fans they do have some fat asses.😁
  9. Probably not in your lifetime. Back in the day we always seemed to get out fair share, even with the shenanigans bama always pulled. NIL will help our cause because we have enough power boosters that, now that it's legal, will keep us competitive. Our booster's moral standards have always been superior to bama's boosters. (Of course bama's had nothing to fear with the NCAA in their back pocket).
  10. It's the same for the coaches too. They offer and accept a commitment from a player, but if a better player becomes available they "encourage" the committed player to look for "other" options. It's a game they all play and with NIL $$ being thrown around like monopoly money I don't blame the recruit one bit to keep looking while committed. It can be life changing $$$ for the kid.
  11. According to the title of this thread, he left his "on-field duties" for personal reasons. I was curious if he had returned to on field coaching.
  12. Important not only for Auburn recruiting this time around, but hopefully will help build a connection to the Thompson players for the future. Thompson will continue to be stocked with talent and it's damn time we started getting our share!!!!!
  13. It's not so much the wins that matter to recruits, it's them seeing a product on the field that is impressive and gives a recruit to desire to want to be a part of. See our Georgia game as example. But you can't follow that up with the LSU game we played and say, "Man, I've got to be part of that". That has got to change or we're not going to attract the kind of players we must have in order to turn this ship around.
  14. At the moment Hugh Freeze and company are trying to make chicken salad out of chicken "you know what." There's not a coaching staff past or present that could accomplish that. Hopefully Hugh is a good enough salesman to convince these recruits to look at what he has done in the past with decent talent (Ole Miss) and see quick opportunity at AU.
  15. Probably need to add prayer too. I'm beginning to have doubts after seeing the game plan and performance last night.
  16. Actually 4 (Harsin, Gus, Chizik, then Tubs), but seems like only yesterday. Believe me there have been numerous times over the past 15 years I really miss the duck hunters and the BBQ boys.
  17. No way. It's duck hunting season!😀
  18. You're right. But maybe a 5 star trying to sway another 5 star will be a better draw for us.
  19. Perry has said he is working hard to get a big flip in the receiver position. I'm feeling much better after this past weekend when you hear recruits say that all Auburn needs are more playmakers. And Freeze is constantly recruiting this one position harder than others.
  20. I'm glad you have such a rewarding and fulfilling career. After more games like we had last Saturday and all the negative posters I'm sure you could spot some potential new patients.😀
  21. Don't take this personal because it not meant to be, but I'm glad you're not one of our recruiters. You can't just walk away from a difference maker at a key position of need when you're in the shape we are in at receiver. You're dealing with 18 year old kids who can change their mind based on any number of factors. Sure the kid wants $$, but I'd be willing to bet there's not much difference between what Auburn offered and A&M.
  22. Come on down Ny!!!! If there is any one school that needs you it's Auburn. Immediate playing time.
  23. And is I remember correctly, he is the son or step-son of Frank Warren who played for AU back in the 80's or 90's. Looks like a big screw-up by the former staff (which is not surprising).
