He has visited the homestate Longhorns (of which he grew up a big fan), and although he has said that he wants to visits a few other schools, including AU (as evident from this quote from his mom)... "He only mentioned one other school that he wants to go and take a look at, and that's Auburn. I'm not sure we may have others, but that's the one he mentioned," Mrs. Estelle said. "I'll say this though, he's impressed with Texas, but he wants the opportunity to go and look at some other campuses and talk to some other coaches. But we were very impressed with Texas. ...it appears that the 'Horns will eventually win out on this big man! He was set to visit either AU and ua or FSU this past w/e, but didn't make the trip. He still plans to make the trip (his parents have told him that he has to choose between the two AL schools or FSU), but he's not sure when. This is another case of trying to out-recruit the hometown Longhorns, when going after a Texas recruit. We would have had an EXCELLENT chance (and probably would've ended up signing) with Estelle, the TOP OL in TX, and Cayleb Jones, the TOP WR and possibly OVERALL player in TX! :'( But at least we are "in the picture"! That's the first step! And last year we EVEN "stole" a player from them in Westerman. Although he technically wasn't from TX.... it's a start! It's hard enough to sign ANY kid from TX, much less one from Austin HS (although Emory came from S.F. Austin)! He claims that he was "wide open" for a long time, but once he realized that he "belonged" at UT, then he knew he made the right choice.
