T Bell and the Secondary

Mincy > Every corner on the roster.

He's the real deal. You'll see him on Sundays. Mark my words.

That's why he doesn't start, because he is the best.

He's started the last two games..

AND just because someone starts doesn't mean they are the best. T-Bell isn't our best corner and you can't be watching the same games i've been watching if you say that he is.

If Mincy hadn't of gotten in trouble last year, he would have played as a true freshman. Just watch. I'm not pulling this out of my ass, i've been around.

Maybe it always seems like T-Bell gets burned because he is normally on the #1 receiver. You will jump down his throat for getting burned, but what about last week? He broke up a deep ball to Alshon and was in position to do the same on the long touchdown until Alshon pushed off. T-Bell is our best cover corner, Mincy might be the only one with better closing speed. And as for the "trash talking," the fact that everyone is making a big deal out of it just proves to me that you haven't played the position or the game. No positions have more trash talking than WR and DB, and it's not always the DB that starts it. I like that he's firing back, shows some fight.

Thats fine if he makes some big plays every game. Demetruce Mcneal is by far our best DB

I agree on the trash talking.  I'm a fan of not allowing a WR behind you and Bell has allowed that to happen on critical plays for whatever reason.  However, he does play with passion and effort which I commend him.  I would like to see the secondary play with more of an attitude and a edge like it's disrespectful for the opposing team to catch the ball.

Y'all sure have a short memory about T-Bell.....

Last week he got an interception. He also defended Jeffrey pretty well, considering he gave up about 4 inches and 50 lbs. That's the case in most of the receivers he faces anyway.

He broke up a few passes yesterday, but Arky has a great passing game and our offense couldn't do anything to help our defense out. When you give a QB like Tyler Wilson a lot of time, and your offense gives him a few interceptions to work with no defense can hold them for long.

Yesterday the offense did not perform well, and that was the problem. It was not T-Bell and the defense. They did all they could do.

You're right...that was McNeal.....my bad. I had to look it up though, to see who it was, because for some reason I remembered it as being T-Bell.

He does not have a interception this season.

But you're right, I don't blame the defense one bit for this one....

I agree with you AUGUY85 that T Bell should be quite unless he make a play worthy of trash talk. I know that this was in the past, but you have to admit that the slam that he put on McElroy last year was beautiful. I can still see McElroy's eyes roll up into his head. But, as they say, you are only as good as your last play. I think that many problems would be solved if someone would teach the dbs proper bump and run, which includes both BUMP and RUN. THE EASIEST RECIEVER TO COVER IS ONE WHO IS ON HIS ASS.

Just because you see a player talking to an opposing player, doesn't mean he is trashtalking. Just saying. Keep in mind that these guys were recruited together and camped together so they know each other well.

Well then, renew old friendships after the game.  Knock their heads off during!

My brother and I were just talking about we need to do more of the bump and run with the DBs.  It seems we have been using the bump and run since WRs are a step or behind our guys.  We need to give the opposing WRs a good physical bump before they start running.

We did play press coverage.  I remember one of Arky's 3rd down conversions was only about 3rd and 4 and the receiver (forget who) just pushed off the line well, and Wilson put it on the money for 6 yards or whatever it was.  It was 3rd quarter or something.  Whitehead was covering on that one.  Just a good play by them.  I thought Bell had a decent game last week -- don't quite remember him much in this game.  I thought the defense made a couple of decent stops.  Offense was the problem this game.  Just couldn't quite get a score when we needed it in the 3rd quarter.  92 yd. run and the refs were backbreakers at times.  If we were any better, we might still come out on top despite those two.

This just my opinion. I agree T-bell is not playing good at all this year. Another play who needs to be sat down is Thorpe. Just like T-bell he constantly out of position and it drives me crazy. He also takes very bad angles. O think chizik needs to open all secondary position and play the best man...:.. JMO...  ALL IN 4 LYFE.. :aufb::we::thumbsup:

Our top DBS are our young players without a doubt. Chizik can spew all the coachspeak he wants about the secondary improving -- blah, blah, blah -- but he's not an idiot. There's a reason he went HARD after DBs in last year's recruiting class and brought in one of the top secondary classes. Therezie, Whitehead, Florence and Rose are going to be good ones before they leave here.

I haven't had a chance to watch the replay yet but a lot of Auburn and Arkansas fans sitting around us were getting on him pretty good for all of the jawing. He made a big hit early and talked the rest of the game. He got beat over and over and even if he didn't have anything to do with an incomplete he ran over and had something to say. I don't care if he talks or not but he looks bad talking when his play doesn't back up his mouth. Talk all you want if you can back it up. Shut up if you can't.
