Eddie Gran to be OC?

No offense to coach Gran, he was about the only one of the BBQ boys I liked, but he is a career position coach. If he's coming back to AU I would assume it would be to coach RB's, and Luper is the new OC.

Either that or we have missed big time on other targets.

I don't mind it. He's learned under some great OC's like Borges, Fisher, and Kiffin. He's a phenomenal recruiter and he has experience coaching QB's.

Coach Gran is a fantastic person that does a lot of good for a lot of folks out there. I have tons of respect for him. However, he is not a good candidate for OC at Auburn. We need to quit thinking about hiring an OC that has never been a big time OC at a big time BCS school. Auburn is not a training ground for wannabee OCs.

WDE!!

For those wanting Gran as our next OC, first ask the question why did Tuberville pass over Gran in favor of Nall/Ensminger when he sought to promote from within his staff???

sounds like criminole wishful thinking/crap talking to me. no way CGC would pass over Luper and Trooper for Gran. I'd say if we were going to go with moving a position coach up to OC Luper, Trooper & Whitt would all be ahead of Gran for the job...and probably half a dozen guys I dont even know about.

This cant be true. It would be a slap in the face to Curtis Luper! Bringing in a RB coach to be OC when your current RB coach (a very successful one) is also a candidate?? Sorry, if this happened and I was Coach Luper I would quit on the spot!!!

This all reminds me of 2008 when Chizik was hired and all the chicken littles were claiming Pat Nix was going to be OC.  Boy were they wrong.

Unfortunately, many of the "chicken littles" are updykes masquerading as Auburn fans trying to stir dissension among the fan base.  We won the BCS last year, and they want to take this coaching staff out because we are going head-to-head in recruiting, and we are not "mailing it in" like the BBQ bunch of 2008, which left us with exactly 7-8 scholarship seniors in football this year.
